Animalia wasn't as focused on the Super Bowl as other people were, but that didn't mean that they didn't ignore it entirely. In fact, one of the commercials that was being shown during the game was actually a preview for Fresh Prince of Pride Rock. There were some other things going on in the other colonies.

Dino City was having a bit of a "redistricting"/"rezoning" issue since there was now a large number of the wealthier members of society moving in, so to speak. This was because many of them were expecting overall "larger" houses while matching the overall theme. While the original houses were comfortable, there were those who were expecting large manor houses "worthy" of being a member of the upper classes.
There was also another issue that came with these new members that wasn't tied to rezoning. This was because upper classes could more easily waste their money on things like plastic surgery, "all-natural cures", and even some that were diagnosed with drug addiction. While that third one would almost guarantee a black mark on their records, it wasn't too much of a problem to "recycle" the old plastic.

Mieni Atoll had its own "new members" special of Fun and Fins (as it was now known), where Susan and Tzan spent quite a bit of time meeting the new "hippie" members of Animalia. While Susan had the most fun meeting them, Tzan was hanging back a bit more but not because she wasn't as social as Susan was. A good deal of these new members happened to come from legalized marijuana states, which Mieni Atoll wasn't really, and had brought large "stashes" with them, which Tzan could smell on them with her enhances senses. It was considered funny watching them react to said stashes getting destroyed, but Susan didn't focus the episode a lot on that.

Vilcabamba was now gaining some more attention due to the footprints of El Jichi which had been found nearby. Ollie and Leslie were able to show some of the new changes/updates as part of their "vacation photos", which showed a surge in cryptozoologists as well as archaeologists drawn to studying the ancient burial ground. Professor Nova had also spent a short vacation there, drawn to El Jichi because she was convinced, as usual, that El Jichi was an extraterrestrial, but there wasn't enough evidence to either prove or disprove that theory, since the only evidence was its footprints.

There was also some other news from Lyre/Animalia, mainly about some other things going on. One such thing was the finishing up of the Claw Coliseum renovations, and was considered just in time since the Lunar New Year 2021 Celebration would be beginning soon. While the bulls and cows got the largest "shifts" in the weight room, etc., no one really minded, since it turned out that Animalians could burn off fat rather quickly, which many chalked up to the virus.
Another thing was when Nicole met Philip's father, Lars. While he had been surprised at Philip's luck on the stock market, he was even more surprised to meet Joanne and Nicole. After his conversion, he was only slightly taller and a bit more broader than Philip, but the two of them were similar enough that it was easy to mistake them for brothers, with Lars being the older one.
The final new thing that was going on was a news interview with Mercy over her "criminal trash recycling" program. As it turned out, she was actually really selective about who could and couldn't get in. For example, you couldn't get in if you committed capital murder or were the kingpin of a drug trafficking organization, but you could get in if you were a low- to mid-level drug dealer.
