Alex put on the clothes. There was no underwear, as if that should shock him considering what he saw on the street. He tugged on the pants and boots and buckled the belt around his waist. He tugged on the vest but it wouldn't close, like what many of the men were wearing it seemed more for a bit of fashion than as an actual torso covering, because in truth in exposed a good deal of his chest and stomach as well as his arms. Not that Alex had much to show off.
Alex stepped out of his room and could hear voices coming from downstairs as well as the smell of something cooking. He headed down only to be greeted by a cheery voice. "Good morning! I was about to come see if you wanted breakfast brought up to your room, but since you're up would you like to eat here?" The voice belonged to a young man about Alex's age, he had bright blond hair and a heavy build that told of him being able to keep the peace in the common room on his own. He wore only pants, boots and an apron, his strong chest with only the lightest dusting of blond hair on full display.
There were a few others in the room eating, both at tables and at stools along the bar. "Um, sure." Alex took one of the barstools as the man nodded and disappeared through a door behind the bar. A moment later he came back out with a bowl of some sort of porridge with fruit in it and a plate of bacon. "Looks good." He admitted as he began eating, much to the innkeeper's delight.
"So, um, not to sound strange." Alex said. "But where am I?" Well, he'd either sound insane or lost.
"Ah.." The man said. "You did some in late and seemed a little out of sorts. This is Nipton, just a small village surrounded by farms. Out only claim to fame is being close enough to one of the major trading roads that we make a good layover and a good place to buy food stuffs and wool."
"Nipton." Alex repeated. "Hmm.."
"So, what brings you here?" The man asked, leaning in. His eyes were roaming over Alex a little hungrily, it wasn't a look he was used to getting. "I'm Jos by the way, my pas own this tavern."
"I'm.." Alex thought for a moment, trying to come up with the simplest reason. "Just travelling. Seeing the world. And the name's Alex. So your pas? Like.. two fathers?"
"Well, strange place to come see, but welcome anyway." Jos nodded at the question. "Yeah, two fathers." He didn't seem to think that all that strange, so Alex didn't want to pry too much.
"If I needed help with a problem of a supernatural sort, is there someone around town that could help?" Alex popped some bacon in his mouth and chewed.
"Actually, yes, we have a resident wizard in town." Jos grinned widely. "It's rare to find one living out in the country instead of just wandering though. Heard he wanted to get away from city life, though, he's not one to just let people come waltzing up to him with problems. He's gonna want something out of you. When my pas went to him for the magic to have me he made them go get him a vial of werewolf semen, don't know why.. but.." Jos shrugged. "He lives in the three story building at the north end of town, can't miss it."
"Wait. Magic to have you?" Jos asked, curiously tilting his head.
"What? Never heard of pregnancy magic? I thought that was pretty common, especially in the cities." Jos laughed again, putting his hand on Alex's.
"Oh! That's what you mean." Alex wasn't exactly sure, but if there was magic that could get men pregnant he had to watch out. "Do I owe you anything for the meal?" He asked motioning to the now empty plate and bowl.
"Nope, you paid up through the week last night and that includes breakfast." Jos lowered his voice a little. "You know, I'm free this evening if you want to.." He waggled his brows. "I always like a nice redhead in bed."
"I'll, uh, think on it." Alex returned with a smile and that seemed to satisfy Jos, though his mind was on the wizard. Maybe he could find a way back home? Or at least some answers.
