A long, green carpet rolls into the room before the new student enters, catching everyone else's attention. In strides a very tall and slender young man dressed in the boy's uniform, followed what looks like a pair of trumpet players in ostentatious garb. This new student has pastel lavender skin, pastel green hair, and long pointed ears. His face was thin and smooth, exuding an ethereal beauty, and his eyes were like perfect glistening moonstones.
Your homeroom teacher, Mr. Akira, strode into the room soon after, showing no indication that he noticed the new boy’s unusual complexion. Or his ears. Or the trumpet players. “Class,” he announced, “This is our-" Suddenly he was interrupted by a fanfare as one of the trumpet players produced a scroll.
"Presenting His Moste Royal Majesty," the player recited, rolling his r's, "Prince Remelias Evergreen of the Sacred Kingdom Gardenia. Long may be his reign!"
A prince? What is a prince doing going to a school like this? Wouldn't they have private tutors of some kind? Besides that, you have a faint suspicion that this guy might be an elf.
Mr. Akira cleared his throat, after which the trumpet players left the room. "Yes, well, while that may be true Mr. Evergreen, while you're-"
"Ahem," the prince interrupted, "Prince Evergreen, if you please?"
"Be that as it may, Prince Evergreen," Akira spoke firmly, "while you are studying at this institution, you are beholden to its rules and regulations. Are we understood?"
Remelias sighed with exhaustion, "We understand perfectly, Mr. Akira. Where shall we be sat?"
“You’re assigned to sit to the left of Mr. Doe,” the teacher explained. With a curt nod, the prince practically glided over to his seat, right next to yours. He sat up perfectly straight, hands folded in his lap. Aside from the hair and the ears, he seemed to be the very picture of a model student. Just what was going to happen to your school now that he was here?
