You briefly consider taking the time cut, but the farmhand perk promised future perks, which could also convert into time savings, probably. It also gave you two things to look out for, and cows had to be more numerous than these bonus minigames. Removing an enemy type and not being naked also sounded good.
“Accept!”
There was a brief flash, and you realized you were now wearing a shirt and some kind of straw hat. However, a more concerning revelation was that you still were naked from the waist down, which was what you were hoping would get covered. Then again, how would the bulls or milk machines do their thing if you had a proper pair of pants on?
You sigh. Something is better than nothing. You look to the cow that you’d trapped, and a small overlay appeared. Zero out of ten cows milked was the first line, and unmilked was the second. It shouldn’t be aggressive because of your perk and you needed 10 cows, so it only made sense to milk this one, right?
You carefully slip into the stall, and the cow does not respond to your presence. Kneeling down, you’re shocked by how much larger this udder was up close. Touching the cow’s udder caused a bucket to appear beneath her. You’d hoped it was just a touch-to-activate and you’d be done, but it appears the devs wanted their players to suffer the full experience.
Taking the nearest two teats into your left and right hands, you carefully start squeezing and pulling. It was so strange to see a virtual cow react so realistically to your failed attempts. As you continued to modify your process, more milk was released into the bucket until you felt pretty comfortable with the rate you were going.
The pail had filled about halfway when the milk suddenly stopped. Confused, you try a few more times, but nothing is released. The cow still displayed an “unmilked” tag, and its udder clearly was large enough to fill this bucket a few times over. You move to the opposite side to try the other two teats, and that seemed to have done it.
It took a scant few minutes to finish filling the bucket, and that seemed to have done it. The cow was now tagged with “milked” and there was a one out of ten. It had taken about 8 minutes to sufficiently milk the cow, which wasn’t too bad but it meant there was no way you’d be able to sneak a cow if there was a bull or machine nearby.
You pull the bucket out from under the cow, and the tiniest thought of drinking it came to mind. You immediately shoot that idea down, as that was what the cow would do to transform you into a calf. Leaving the filled bucket in a corner, you return to searching the barn for more cows or bonus rooms.
