You saw the new girl walk in. Here was a petite young lady who looked like she came out of some abstract low poly computer game. Her face looked like a figure from a cubist drawing, the left half cyan and the right half pink. She had long, straight black hair, and some black and white variant of the girl’s sailor uniform. In her arms, which floated independently from her shoulders, she held a briefcase. Her expression seemed amicable.
You homeroom teacher, Mr. Akira, strode into the room soon after, showing no indication that he noticed the abstract appearance. “Class,” he announced, “This is our new transfer student JANI. She’s here all the way from California. She never specified where in California she comes from besides Silicon Valley.”
“Salutations, friends,” JANI greeted from the cyan side of her cubist face. Her voice seemed a tad compressed. “It is a blessing to be here in your presence! I do hope to learn much here in the concrete realm, and teach the ways of us abstractions to thee!”
She seems friendly enough. She considers herself as abstract, huh? Besides that, you wonder what her briefcase is about.
“Pardon me,” the polygonal girl asked your teacher, “Where am I to sit?”
“You’re assigned to sit next to John Doe, JANI,” Mr Akira explained, “He’s the androgynous young man with the bangs that cover his eyes. I trust you will be able to find it?”
“Verily,” she said with a bow. She then strode over to her desk, right next to yours. She opened her briefcase, which turned out to be a laptop computer, and started quietly typing. You had trouble with keeping your eyes off this strange girl. She reminded you of some web cartoon you saw late one night, but you can’t quite remember which one at the moment.
