Two barely humanoid creatures were dancing around a tree. They were roughly as tall as a human, their dark brown fur short for the most part with streak of lighter brown running through them. Large bushy tails swished behind them.
As they turned the tree, he noticed their snouts and pointed ears. They reminded him a little of dogs or raccoons. They were dangling what appeared to be a heavy bag before them during the dance.
What he thought were people talking was, more like rudimentary singing. It's coarse low guttural notes and occasionally some high shrieks. There did seem to be words in there, but he had no idea how or what.
More importantly though, around the tree he noticed several plants which seemed very much like the plants he needed.
He had no idea what the raccoon creatures were doing down there. Could he just walk down and ask them? They didn't seem hostile. Unlike what the Nekomata body had against other women and witches.
Alec didn't note his borrowed body having any kind of a strong response to them. So whatever they were, presumably the centaurs didn't see them as threat, or at least Alem didn't have any deep seated hatred or fear of them.
They weren't carrying any open weapons, the seemed to have their hands full with what Alec assumed were oversized fanny packs. What the hell did those things contain anyway? Seemed like there were 2 boulders in there.
Technically they could contain weapons, but even if, by the time they could grab them they weren't going to be able to grab them before Alec could run away.
But would they appreciate a stranger centaur, who is twice their size to interrupt their...thing. Whatever they were doing.
One of the creatures bent forward and snatched one of the plants of the floor, munching it down as he danced. Maybe he should look around for the plants elsewhere. No reason to take anymore risks.
