Yuriko furrowed her brow as she now perused the menu. The elderly woman couldn't decide on what to have for lunch, much to Ayami's frustrations. "I swear Yuki you are the absolute worst at deciding what to eat."
Yuriko grinned, glancing at the angel of maternity. "There's just so many options. Do I want a burger? Maybe the chili? Perhaps a salad, that looks good." Ayami sighed, reaching over and gently taking Yurikos menu.
"We both know you're getting the chicken fajitas Yuki. You always do."
The two women now chuckled softly as they began to talk. Yuriko always enjoyed these lunch dates with Ayami. It gave the old friends a chance to talk and relax. Yuriko now leaned back, a serene smile on her face as Ayami now talked of Akira and her niece. As the elderly wizard now people watched she gasped in horror.
Throughout her life Yuriko had two recurring nightmares. One had Yuriko strapped to a table unable to move, the other had her laying in a forest unable to move, her friends dead beside her as a shadowy figure approached. In both those nightmares the figure was Casseus.
Yuriko now rubbed the old scar along her chest, a war wound from when she had traveled back in time to help her friends and family. She recognized the handsome silver haired man at the other end of the diner but, it couldnt be. Casseus had been dead for 80 years. "It cant be," she whispered.
"Yuriko what's wrong?"
Yuriko said nothing, watching as the silver haired man slowly stood. The elderly woman was close to hyperventilating as Casseus seemed to stare daggers into her. As he exited the diner, Yuriko slowly stood. "Ayami call Akira there's something I need to do."
Casseus and his companion exited the diner, quickly making their way down the street. "Umm shes following us," the Notmal agent stammered.
"I know," Casseus responded as the two turned a corner. "Split up and head back," he said. "I will draw her away." The agent nodded, sprinting off in the opposite direction as Casseus slowly began to walk. He had been recognized, now he would draw Yuriko away. The two old enemies had a long overdue rematch.
Yuriko turned, scanning the side street and immediately seeing Casseus. As improbable as it seemed, Casseus was alive. It had to be him, she now saw him turn slightly, his gaze causing the woman to shudder. Yuriko now tried to keep pace, watching as Casseus began to try and lose her.
Part of Yuriko knew this was a trap but she had to know for sure. She had feared Casseus her entire life, her own personal boogeyman. As she watched him enter an abandoned building she took a breath, expecting the worst. "Where are you," she said quietly.
A soft laugh now emanated throughout the abandoned building, causing Yuriko to shudder. "Hello Yuriko," the voice echoed. "It has been a long time."
"Not long enough," Yuriko grumbled. The wizard now useing her magic to try and pinpoint Casseus. "How did you return?"
"That's my secret," Casseus chuckled. "My, has it been so long? You have gotten old. You are far removed from the insolent teenage girl I knew so many years ago."
Yuriko narrowed her eyes, not responding to Casseus taunts. She knew an attack was imminent, she just needed to ready herself. A flash of movement now caught Yurikos attention, turning her eyes went wide as Casseus launched himself at her. Yuriko was ready, catching him in mid air with her psionic abilities. With a now primal scream she used her abilities to rip the very head of Casseus from his body.
Yuriko took a deep breath, gazing at Casseus lifeless head. She had faced her fear. Slowly she now approached, only to gasp in horror as Casseus' eyes now turned to her a sinister smile etched on his face. "You didnt think it would be that easy did you?"
Yuriko screamed as she felt a knife plunge into her back. Sinking to her knees she turned, her eyes growing wide in horror as she now saw Caseeus true form. The handsome silver haired wizard was no more, now a grey and sallow face with one eye, the other a pinpoint of red light that glowed with murderous intent.
"I have waited almost a century for my revenge," Casseus growled. Before he could strike, a figure appeared between him and Yuriko. A figure Casseus immediately recognized.
"YOU!!!"
Akira held his katana at the ready, watching as Casseus vanished into the shadows, his screams of rage echoing throughout the building. Turning towards Yuriko, he could see the woman trembling from fright.
"Yuriko you are safe now," he whispered.
"No," Yuriko said quietly. "No we're not." The elderly wizard now turned to Akira, a fearful look on her face. "Go find Darren," she said. "I fear hes in great danger."
