Ty emptied the bin of damp Speedos into the large front loading washing machine. Then he added the detergent pod. He stuck his hand into his pocket and felt the Speedo, and pulled it out.
Chad shouted, "Ty!"
But before he could say more, Ty turned to see who called his name and tossed the Speedo into the washer. Ty replied, "Yes?" Not realizing he had heard the Speedo call his name. He filled a measuring cup with sanitizer, and emptied it directly on Chad. Chad sputtered and gagged as the caustic sanitizer saturated him, and flowed through him into the Speedos beneath him. It felt like his tongue was stuck to the roof of his mouth. Suddenly, Ty dumped the second cup of sanitizer on Chad. Then he closed the door, and turned the washing machine on. Cold water began to fill the drum, and it began to turn. Suds was everywhere. Fortunately for Chad, the Speedos were washed gently. About 20 minutes later, Chad and the other Speedos were rinsed and spun dry. Then Ty loaded the Speedos into the industrial clothes dryer. About twenty minutes later on delicate low heat. Chad was dry. He and the other Speedos were dumped on a table, as Ty began folding and stacking the Speedos. Chad was so exhausted.
After being drenched in sanitizer, washed and tumbled dry, Chad was barely conscious. He seemed to wake up when he felt a warm hand close on him, and pulled him out of the pile of Speedos. Chad tried to speak, but his mouth and tongue wouldn't respond. He wasn't able to communicate. What had the sanitizer done to him? Was it permanent? Oh, hard he might spend the rest of his life as an athletic department Speedo worn by different students daily. Why had Coach done this to his star player? Coach had mentioned that he might change Chad back to place baseball? Was that still a possibility?
