Jim stared at Tom's skin, now looking like shiny brown rubber. Tom had his eyes closed and was soaking up the warm sun. Whatever was happening to Tom, Jim didn't want to catch it. The best thing he could think of doing was getting out of the pool and not touching Tom.
With a careful push with his feet, Jim propelled the donkey pool toy and himself closer to the side of the pool where he easily got out. Jim pulled the pool toy up and out of the water and set it down on the wet tiles. He looked around and didn't see any open chairs, so he might have to use the donkey as a chair.
But, he didn't feel like sitting, he had an odd craving for food and drink. Mostly for something to drink. Jim spotted a umbrella-shaded table with plates of fruit, crackers and cheese as well as a bunch of two-liter bottles of various drinks. Jim's mouth started watering at the sight of the food and he quickly forgot Tom's changed skin and headed over to the buffet.
Jim took a handful of crackers and cheese and snarfed them down, but that didn't satiate his craving, instead in made his mouth exceptionally dry. He needed something to drink. Jim moved over to the drinks and took a full two-liter bottle of soda, opened it up with a gasp of escaping gas and started chugging it down.
