“Alright, now we just wait for the editor to render the video,” Antonio said to the small group assembled in his bedroom. Antonio was a teenage self styled documentary filmographer, and today he was putting the finishing touches on his latest passion project. He swept his tawny brown bangs to the side as he turned to face his collegues. They were his longtime childhood friend Ryan, and his bouncerbutt older sister Francesca. Ryan was performing maintenance on his camera, while Francesca merrily bobbed in place.
“Ant, no one’s gonna take this seriously,” Ryan groaned, “We could have done my bird watching documentary idea and gotten more views than with a biopic about goddamn bouncerbutts.”
“Excuse me!” Francesca retorted, “I right here, you know! Brother just trying to help out his sister is all. Discrimination like that is why he make his movie!”
“She has a point you know,” Ant concurred, “Just because she has a yoga ball for a butt and a speech impediment, people look down on her. It’s disgusting and I won’t stand for it anymore! This documentary is going to change the way we think about bouncerbutts, as more than just constantly bouncing bimbos, but intelligent people like you or me!”
“Hehehe! Uh huh! Uh huh!” his sister giggled, “I still super de-duper smart! I no have a degree in physics for nothing! No one believe me though just because I boingy boingy! It no fair! It unjust, discriminatory, and prob’ly a little misogynistic too!”
“Yeah, I know,” Ryan sighed, “It’s just going to be an uphill battle with this because of the deep seated relationship our society has with them. My cousin came out as trans last year, man! Every day I worry that he... I mean she, my bad! Still not used to it.”
“You’re worried about your cousin testing positive, huh?” Antonio supposed, “Come on, there’s nothing to worry about, Ryan. You should know that by now.”
“What if it happens though?” Ryan asked, “What if she can’t walk anymore? What if she loses her mind to bouncing forever? She could end up too big to function, and you directed this thing so I know you know it could happen!”
“That’s only one in about a hundred cases where they get that big,” Antonio reasoned, “And so what if she loses the ability to walk? Most bouncerbutts hate walking anyway.”
“Walking no fun as boingy, teehee,” Francesca giggled, “I glad I no gotta do that anymore! Bouncy way better way to travel!”
“What about that detective we interviewed though, Fran?” Ryan asked, “She’s a bouncerbutt just like you and she can walk on her own two feet just fine.”
“No,” Francesca argued, “You saw how much Detective Margo has to wrench her boobies forward just to stay off her booty! You saw how much her booty was trying to get her to boingy again! It just ignorant dicks at the station basically force her to hurt herself to keep her job.”
Ryan stood up, saying, “Well at least she could talk like a normal person and not like some kind of-“
“You no say it!” Francesca warned, “You say it then you just as bad as the bullies at the station!”
“Would you two just calm down?” Antonio snapped, “This is exactly the kind of thing that made me want to make this documentary in the first place. Bouncerbabble is nothing to be ashamed about, Fran. It’s just how your brain works while you’re on your bouncy heinie, right?”
“I no help it,” Francesca shook her head, “and it no from lack of trying. My mouth just no wanna talk properly like everyone else. I hate that no one take me seriously just because of my stupid speech impediment, but I no wanna stop bouncy. Bouncerbutts who no bounce make me sad. I no able to stand by myself and I okay with that, you okay with that, Mama and Papa okay with that… but the rest of the world see me as a freak.” Her giddy demeanor fell away as tears began to well up in her eyes. Bouncerbutts are always so happy and giggly most of the time, and oftentimes people forget that they can feel any other emotions. Sometimes of course, a bouncerbutt can feel sad, angry, scared, disgusted, and even some combination of emotions. This is because bouncerbutts, behind the veneer of airheaded giggling and the space hopper posteriors, they’re only human.
“Most of us bouncerbutts literally no can walk anymore,” Francesca continued, “and most of the ones who can choose to listen to their booties and not the hateful masses who think boingy is something to be ashamed of! We no help who we are, or what our bodies need, but those… pendejos who run the world think that something wrong with us! They think we sick with a disease… that we are a disease. I NO DISEASE! I am a strong, smart, mature woman… but just because I boingy instead of walking… just because my booty take up three chairs… just because I giggle all the time and no talk like everyone else… just because I became a bouncerbutt, and choose to be happy with that… I am called a monster! I am no monster!”
Antonio and Ryan both stared at her, gobsmacked by her impassioned rant. Ryan especially was at a loss for words, hearing a speech like that come from what was usually a very giddy and giggly bouncing bombshell. Antonio simply slowly stood up, and gave his dear older sister a hug. “Está bien, hermana. Todo saldrá bien,” he said as he stroked her back, “Everything’s gonna be okay.”
“Man,” Ryan said finally, “I… didn’t know you felt that way.”
“This oppression needs to end,” Antonio stated, “My documentary is just the start. Hopefully, someone will watch it and be moved to end this plague of ignorance. Just because they’re different should be no excuse. I can’t see the people I love be treated so horribly anymore.”
