The HIMEROS artifact refers to the Greek God of Sex and Desire. It allows a couple to indulge in changes to their bodies as well as create or modify the clothing being worn. The HIMEROS artifact grants couples the ability to change and be changed. It’s very powerful but it has some basic safeties.
• No loss or degradation of anyone’s fundamental self. That is no one can lose innate knowledge or desires. However additional supplements can be added and altered.
• Health is always maintained.
• Baseline change only insures runaway positive feedback loops are prevented.
• Clothing will not adjust to body changes automatically, but clothing worn can be explicitly defined or created as desired.
• Change can only take place within the room containing the activated artifact.
• Activation requires two people to grasp the HIMEROS and agree which one will have control.
• Taking the HIMEROS out of the room deactivates the artifact.
To reiterate, changes can only be implemented in the room containing the activated artifact.
The person in control, or Changer, can only invoke changes from their normal baseline form. This is to prevent runaway change feedback. If a Changer changes themselves, the only change they can subsequently make is to revert back to their normal baseline form. After the Changer has been in their normal baseline form for as long as they were changed or one hour, whichever is less, full change ability is restored. For example; if a Changer changes themselves and decides the change is not right after five minutes, they need only revert back for five minutes in order to try again. If a Changer experiences a changed state for more than an hour, they must revert back to baseline for an hour for full change ability restoration.
Partners have no baseline time restrictions and need not revert to baseline as their changes are directed by the Changer, so unintended feedback is not an issue.
