When Jack and Teddy walked into the drama classroom, the entire classroom was buzzing. Not only was everyone talking about the conjoined students, but they were all eagerly anticipating Miss Robert's reaction to the conjoined boys.
Miss Roberts was short, skinny, and had long, straight, black hair. She was strange, busy, and eccentric. She would think up different scenarios on the fly, and then have the students come up to the front of the classroom, and act out the different scenes. Then, the other students would take turns to critique the performance of the actors, and they would evaluate them.
The whole class became quiet when she walked into the room. Right away, she threw her bag on the floor and started talking to her students.
"Alright, class. Today, we're going to discuss conflict in relationships. I want two students to come up here and act out a situation which can come up in a relationship between a boy and a girl, for example: a girl likes a guy, but another guy is involved, and doesn't leave the first couple alone. Do we have any volunteers?" she asked.
After a few moments of silence, she started pacing around the room.
"If nobody volunteers, then I will choose two people... Hmm..." she warned.
She walked around and studied the girls.
"Cindy".
"Aww... Me again?" the girl grumbled.
"Come up to the front!" Miss Roberts instructed.
Then the teacher scanned the room and looked at the guys, before she noticed Teddy... and Jack.
"Teddy".
Of course, Teddy came up, along with Jack.
"I only asked for Teddy. Who are you?" she said, looking at the face next to Teddy.
"I'm Jack..." Jack stammered.
"How come both of you came up?"
"Uhh... We're conjoined..." Teddy replied.
Miss Roberts walked up to them and carefully examined them. Then she realized that indeed, both heads were coming from the same body!
"Well... That is convenient!" she replied. Then she turned to face Cindy. "Okay... You're supposed to be Teddy's girlfriend... Now you want to go out with him... But ONLY with him... So, you're looking him up at his house... Take it from there!" she instructed the student.
Cindy, Teddy and Jack turned to face one another sideways, so that everyone in the classroom could see them.
"Hi Teddy! Wanna go out with me?" Cindy asked.
"Sure!" Teddy replied.
Jack just rolled his eyes and sighed.
"But, who's that?" Cindy wondered, looking at Jack.
"Oh, that's Jack. He's my best friend!"
"Well, I just wanna go out with YOU, not with HIM..." Cindy continued.
"Uhhmmm... That's kinda hard..." Teddy stuttered.
"Why?"
"Well, you see... We're kinda stuck together..."
"What?"
Some of the students started to chuckle.
"We're conjoined, Cindy... Jack goes everywhere I go..."
"You mean... I can't go out with you, ALONE?" Cindy asked.
"Uhh... I'm afraid not..."
"Well, that sucks!"
"Uhh... sorry..."
"Yeah... I'm sorry too, Teddy!" Cindy said angrily. "Well, we'll have to find Jack a date as well, then!"
"We can make it a double!" Teddy chuckled.
"Next time!" Cindy sneered, as she turned around and walked away.
"Very good!" Miss Roberts said. "Thank you, Cindy, Teddy and Jack!"
The students talked about the performance for a few minutes, before the bell rang. Then Jack and Teddy headed out, to get to the cafeteria for lunch.
