Charlie gawked as he drive up the hill. He had no idea his uncle was so rich. The huge dark mansion was a stark contrast to the luscious green mountain it sat upon. Charlie pulled into the driveway in his beat up sedan. He had never met his uncle Mortimer but from what his father told him he was a crazy recluse. Yet for some reason his uncle had called upon him to house sit. Mortimer was going to Europe and his usual house sitter wasn't available. Charlie banged the heavy metal knockers on the door. For a few moments rustling could be heard from the other side before the fancy wooden door was thrown open. There in the doorway sat Mortimer, a pale skinny man with a wispy gray beard. He was wearing a dark suit and his icy blue eyes sat behind thick glasses. Mortimer smiled at Charlie and ushered him in. "Oh thank you for agreeing to watch my house. I was having trouble finding someone." "It's no problem, I've never even seen a home this big" Charlie said. "That's splendid," Mortimer exclaimed, "Everything you need is on the first floor. I have prepared a list for what needs to be taken care of while I'm away. But whatever you do..." Mortimer's tone became serious losing it kindness from before, "Don't leave the first floor. The basement, 2nd floor and above are strictly off limits. Is that clear?" Charlie gulped at his uncle's sudden Change in attitude and nodded his head. "Very well I'm off!" Mortimer said as he handed Charlie a list of chores. With a final wave, Mortimer walked out the door.
