After a year of lockdown Christina was getting pretty desperate to find a escape hatch in the City of Voltipolis.
Day after day was the same dreary news.
It didn't help that the apartment building she had spent the previous year cooped up in had nothing to recommend it.It was drab,plain and blocky with no interesting architectural features on its outside and no artwork in the hallways,foyers and closed and boarded up resteraunt to spark the imagination.
So it was with interest Christina read a New York Herald article about a woman in New York who
slid aside her bathroom mirror and discovered a small crawlhome leading to a vacant apartment that was sealed up.
Her hope rekindled Christina rushed to her bathroom and moved aside the vanity mirror above the sink.
Alas there was no hole behind it.
However now that the idea had been planted in her mind Christine spent the next while shovong around the bookcases,wardrobes and other floor furniture that had
come with the apartment when she'd moved in a year earlier.
Finally she found something interesting behind the wall unit in the spare bedroom.
Though the wall was mostly painted in a cream colour there was a patch of wall behind the unit that was of a pale green colour,such as you might find in
a hospital.
There was also a brass plate attached to that wall held in place with copper furniture screws.
The plate has both lettering in English alphabet and Russian Cyrillic on it
and though the Russian lettering meant nothing to Christine the English words
on the sign suggesteds this room had something to do with
Camaflouge Transformation Observation Clinic
which definitely cranked Christine's curiosity.
Being a smart woman Christine immediately got the hunch this building was once connected
to the Soviet spy agency's network.
