Hika's eyes closed and violet eyeshadow spread across her eyelids. Her lips turned a deeper purple and sparkling blush appeared on her cheeks. I saw her ears grow larger and stretch into a long, pointed shape. A pair of long, black stalks popped out of her forehead; twitching as they curled into elegant loops. Hunching over, she let out a short groan as I saw her back bulging outward, and finally, a sharp gasp as an explosion of violet and black silky material formed into the shape of the largest butterfly wings I ever saw.
"You are the first human to ever see me in my true form." Hika said as she fluttered her wings and rose to my eye level, revealing that the blue of her eyes was even wider than before, and even enveloped her pupils.
"Y-y-y-you're a f-f-f-f-f..." I began to stutter. By all accounts she was one; but I was having a hard time convincing myself to admit it.
"Go ahead; say it, Tiki. Whether you do or not won't make it any less true."
"FAIRY!!!" I blurted out, at last. Is this why she never seemed to age since we first met; why she was still so... youthful and immature? Was this some sort of immortality or long-life thing where they age so slowly, or not at all, or something!?
"That's right!" Hika said in a singsong voice. "Come out, sisters; I think Tiki's convinced!" Four other fairies flew in, all of them female; small-framed, like her; and with a bit of a childish way they composed themselves.
She introduced her "sisters" (used in a sorority-like sense) as:
Mori Midnight: Black, pixie-cut hair with blue makeup/wings
Risi Rosethorn: Red hair in twintails with green makeup/wings
Fila and Tila Gildflutter: Both blue haired, done in single buns on opposite sides of their heads to distinguish them better, with orange-gold makeup/wings
"Sisters, this is my human friend, Tiki."
"M-my real name is Gale." I said as I shyly waved at them.
"Oh, but you do look so much like a Tiki." Risi said.
"I can see why she gave you that name." Mori added.
"Isn't she a little old for this?" Fila and Tila asked at the same time.
"Nonsense;" Hika answered; "Humans pine for their younger days all the time when they get much older than Tiki; the game I have in mind is specially designed to help her avoid all that."
"Game? What game!?" I answered nervously, almost dreading the answer.
"A little game I have in mind to get you to embrace your inner child, and bring her forth..." She flew back up to me to finish "...as a brand... new..." she squealed that last word "FAIRY!"
