"Dude, did you see that?" Jeff chuckled. He pointed over at Wes and Bryan in front of the old Wizard machine. It'd shouted for the next customer and drawn Jeff's attention. "Did they actually get that thing to talk?"
Paul looked over, still sipping on his soda. "Sounded like it... And it looks like the lights are still on."
"Dude! What do you think they wished for?"
"Dunno," Paul shrugged his shoulders.
As he said it Jeff had already been running over to the thing. His lean soccer build made him quick and he knew how to dodge and weave in between the traffic of the pier. And his curious nature had taken over when he got up close and personal with the old machine. He'd been coming here for years and the thing had never turned on, but right now, there wasn't even a burnt out bulb.
"Dude! It's working!" Jeff exclaimed. He was still looking over each and every part of it. "What do you think those losers wished for?"
Paul was a good few paces behind. He never liked to waste any more energy than he had to outside of the gym. His larger football build made him a better wall than a runner. At 6'4" and a good 250 pounds of fat and muscle, he didn't have the same ability to go at the same speed as his smaller friend. "Dunno..." he repeated.
"I wish that every guy on the football team wanted to fuck me," Jeff raised the sound pitch of his voice, mocking Bryan's more nasally voice.
"YOUR WISH WILL BE GRANTED SOONER OR LATER!"
Jeff and Paul jumped back. "Holy shit! It's still on!"
"Idiot," Paul chuckled at their sudden scare. "But still it's pretty crazy that this thing is still on. I would have figured that you had to pay something."
"You do..?" Jeff wanted to shoot back but he couldn't find a place to insert the money into. "You should have to! If you want a wish you should have to pay something."
"Man. Here I am not realizing you wanted to be fucked by the whole football team," Paul mocked.
Jeff's arms crossed against his chest. "It was a fucking joke and you know it."
"Yeah, a joke," Paul looked up to the sky, smirking. "I mean, if I had a free wish I sure as hell wouldn't waste it on something like that. I would simply say, I wish that I had all the biggest and best parts of the pro football players."
"YOUR WISH WILL BE GRANTED SOONER OR LATER!"
"Shit!" The two jumped again at the sudden sound of the wizard. They looked over and it went back down into it's more neutral position.
"Weird..." Jeff took a step back. "You wanna go do something else?"
For a second Paul paused. He looked down at Jeff. Something seemed different about him, but he couldn't quite place it. "Yeah. Sure. Wanna go back to my place?"
