It was monday. Another day of work for me now. As i began my patrol with the "normal" human looking at me and trying not to be horified by my appearance. It's not that I did'nt thought that they were wrong. Hell, even myself despised a little bit my appearance. And if I would have been of them, I would have too been horrified at the being I would have seen.
Oh pardon me, i forgot to present myself! My name is... well, wich one do you want, my old one or the one those that "took care" of me gave to me? Well, my "codename" would be "DarkFang", but my real one was Jon Sutterby. Did I told you that I was also one of the first "changed"? You know, those that the government tryed to hide and then make them as some of their "secret weapon". Ah, you don't know? It's true that this is something that people does'nt talk too much about. Well the "change" is the term people now use to describe the period about ten year ago when some people began to change into something else and that magic began to appear. And the "changed" is the people that got changed into another creatures by the "change". And the first ones were then kept as a secret not to frighten the people. And also the government thought that they could be made into special agent easily. Well, that was what they thought before there had too much changed ones that they could'nt keep it a secret anymore. I was part of those firsts "changed ones". And what was funny was that in the secret organisation(that i would not name because I vowed secret) that had "recruited" me(kidnapped me would be more exact), my best(and probably only) friend was the man himself who captured me when undeads broke aloose in my town ten year ago. He was a fellow that was going by the name of William Renford.
Well, now I'm getting off of the subject. So as i was saying, since they could no longer keep us a secret, they told the thruth and "released" us. In fact, they simply disposed of us as they had now fully a choice of better agent in all the new number of changed ones. And this is how I now found myself hired by the local corps guard squad of this city(well, this is how policemen are called now).
Then I was able to see my family. I suddenly saw that my parent had made another child during my "absence". When they learnt that I was their long-lost child, they were totally suprised, not to say shocked. But they took the thing well. And it is how that I knew my 12 years old little brother as he approached with curiousity and fear the big snake-like humanoid that was the brother he never knew. We've grown to be big friend now. I must also say that I also lost no time
in finding Sara, the only person, beside my family, that had cared for me when I was still human. I must say that she was'nt surprised when she saw my appearance. After all, she was there when I changed during the undead onslaught at my town(but she was latter vowed to secret by the government about anything she saw). But she had a great relief when she saw me because she was worrying that something might have happened to me when William and his squad took me. About this part of my life, I must say that it was'nt has hard as others changed one as I did'nt end up as a lab experiment. The people that had "recruited" me had at least the decency of realizing there was still an human mind in that huge snake humanoid that I am. Oh and by the way, did I mention that my friend Sara also changed into an elf before i saw her again? No? Then pardon me. She was among the "second wave", when the existence of magic and of the changed ones was finnaly revealed. Anyway i got to go.
And so, as I go to my patrol duty, my new tale begin.
