"Jade! Come on!" Mark chuckled.
"I'm coming, I'm coming," Jade replies, smiling.
Mark helps her onto the bench as she holds her pregnant belly and sighs. Mark goes to the hot-dogs that he's barbecuing. He flips a few, and turns back around, sitting on the bench. Both of their eyes meet. Jade smiles as her attention turns to the cooking hotdogs. She takes a whiff.
"Mmmmmmm!" she says. "That smells delicious!"
Mark smiles and winks. "That's my secret recipe that makes it so good." he says. They both giggle. Those were the good times, at least before the incident, anyways.
Mark was born and raised on a farm. He's hardworking, and would never give up on anything he would be working on. Jane was a kind and generous person. Her personality could cheer up anyone who's around her. They were the perfect couple. A bit too perfect, if even. They met each other when they attended college. It was the first time Mark ever went anywhere but the countryside to go to school. Luckily, Jade was there to help him out, and in turn, they fell in love. Mark graduated with a degree in Electrical engineering and marketing while Jade got a degree in computer sciences.
Fast-forward 2 years, after getting married, they bought a small farm, got a few cows, and have slowly made a living ever since.
Mark goes over to Jade and caresses her pregnant belly. "Hi there, bud!" He says.
Jade joins him, continuously patting her stomach. "I can't wait for him to come out." Jade smiles.
"Me too." replies Mark.
A sizzle from the grill signals Mark to go check on the hot dogs,
"Hold on, hon." he says, grabbing the tongs. "Looks like the hot dogs are almost ready."
Jade nods her head. But something catches her attention at the corner of her eye. What is it?
