"Oh, hey Natalie," Alex mumbled, seemingly unfazed by the scaly legless lady he was talking to. "What are you doing here? And what're you doing with those paper towels?"
"Oh, Jake invited me over for a sleepover," Natalie said. "And the cleaning supplies are for," she caught herself just before she gave away the existence of the Chronivac, "some soda we spilled while playing Alley Fighter II."
Alex chuckled. "Oh, a 'sleepover' huh? I get the feeling you two aren't gonna be getting much sleep, am I right?" He winked.
Natalie rolled her eyes as she slithered toward the basement. "Come on, it's nothing like that."
"Yeah, I'm sure you two just happened to schedule it on a night our parents wouldn't be home"
Meanwhile, in the basement, Jake had managed to climb up and grab the laptop and emitter off the mantle. Climbing down with his hands full of delicate electronics had proved difficult, but he was steadily moving back down when Natalie had reached the bottom of the steps.
"Everything's about sex with that guy," she muttered, before seeing Jake's progress. "Oh, you made it! Here, let me help with that!" She put down her cleaning supplies, slithered over and grabbed the laptop and emitter, and placed them on a coffee table, letting Jake steady himself with all four limbs again as he crawled to the ground.
"Thanks," he mumbled. "So, you gonna clean all that off, now?"
"Yeah, I am," Natalie nodded, slithering over to the wall and spraying the hand- and foot-prints with the cleaner. "But you might want to change back quick. Alex just got home. No telling what he'll think if he sees you like this."
"Alex is home?" Jake's eyes widened. The jig was up already! "Did he see you?"
"Yeah, we talked a bit."
Jake tilted his head slightly. "You talked. And he didn't... say anything weird."
"Nothing besides hinting that you only called this sleepover for sex."
"Oh, yeah. That's stupid." Jake shook his head as the wheels started turning. Alex didn't freak out about there being a snake woman in the house? That had to mean the perception filter option made it so everybody but the Chronivac users saw the change as normal, not just the victim. With that, he wouldn't have to change back right away... But that would mean altering his own perception so he didn't remember being human until he went back, either. Unless there was some option to leave out the victim but leave everyone else aware, or vice-versa. Still, it would all fade in an hour unless he made a change permanent, so it might not be any harm.
Then again, maybe he could ignore that for now, and and have some fun using the Chronivac on Alex.
