"Fuck these damn... They aren't even cops! Just rolling into town and so many of my guys just up and vanish!" Rodrigo thought as he was taking cover in an abandoned building with his most trusted... at this point considering them more of his men would be a disgrace. They were his second family. Clancy may have been a bit more fancy than the rest of them, but he knew his way around a lab and a spreadsheet. Estevan was a great shot and had a way with words which helped when selling product. Then finally there was BIG, we all knew his actual name but his name is BIG. He didn't exactly have Estevan's way with words, but he had a way with actions which spoke volumes enough. They were pinned down by this small army of P&R Goons. Clancy and Estevan were hiding in the same cover with Estevan occasionally trying to peak out to see if he could take a shot, but with so many guns pointed in his direction it was a standstill at this point.
BIG next to Rodrigo whispered "We going out in a blaze of glory?"
Rodrigo thought and whispered back "Maybe... The question is if they have live ammo or tranqs. If we just die that's one thing but... We've all heard the rumors. Who knows maybe some of our men were morphed into the goons we're facing right now." Glancing to Estevan and Clancy Rod felt a bit bad about Clancy. He was the only one who didn't have a firearm... although it may not have done much realistic good considering the amount of force that was being used against them. A few clanks came rattling down the ground as some gas canisters came out emitting some highly pressurized gas quickly.
"DON-" Was the only thing Rodrigo said before he went unconscious. The act of taking a small breath in enough to let the sleep gas into his system.
...Everything felt so fuzzy as Rodrigo started to wake up. He was bound in a chair in what looked like a police interrogation room with some man with well trimmed black hair on the other side of the table. Guy had a nice suit on and that was all Rodrigo needed to know to hate this guy. The man spoke in a pretty assertive voice "Rodrigo, From what I hear you were quite a powerful man back when this large town wasn't under P&R." Rod remained silent as the man continued "I am Anthony Berzinsky, I work for P&R and have been assigned to manage good ole Pebble Springs. Reconstruction is going smoothly, but I'm afraid there are too many businesses we need to make and we're a little short on people to run them."
"Bullshit."
"Excuse me?"
"Bullshit! There's no way you are short on anyone who can run any damn business!"
"Alright, I was hoping that would let you be more accepting of my proposition. I've taken a bit of an interest in gang leaders, and was imagined what good they could do if given a different lease on life. So I thought I'd let you manage a small local business and see how you do. If it all works maybe I'll see about expansion or letting you run a chain. As a special project of mine I'll even wave all taxes on profit."
"Fuck you! You'll just mold me into whatever you like, I won't just let you use me!"
"I was mostly going to leave you alone. Although I don't think you'd object to some Dental reconstruction, remove some scars and injuries, maybe move some tattoos to places where they wouldn't be easily seen... Maybe adding an inch or two. However I think you'll need to see part 2." Anthony pressed a button on what looked like an intercom and said "Bring in Clancy." Rodrigo wasn't sure what he was expecting, but a few minutes later one of the P&R cops brought in a restrained pregnant woman. She didn't seem to be struggling and there seemed to be a bit of a sense of dread on her expression. Rodrigo glared at Anthony as he said "She turned into quite the wonderful woman. I think the Rodrigo in our Pebble Springs would be really lucky to be married to her, and she'll be having twins. Isn't that exciting?" Rodrigo said nothing as Anthony continued "This is a fresh chance for you all. Work in Pebble Springs and help bring prosperity. All crimes pardoned! You'll have a lovely home next to some great schools and daycares! Don't accept... and honestly who is going to overlook a few dead bodies when taking a gang down?" Rodrigo heard a click as the P&R cop put a gun to the woman who Rod suspected was Clancy
Rodrigo said "Wow heard you guys were efficient, but you can put the gun to the head of three people at the same time!..." he let out a breath and asked "Clancy what do you think?"
The woman said "Giving birth to twins is going to suck... but I think this'll be better than dying. I also don't think either of us has the right to make the decision to kill BIG or Estevan."
...At their new home Rodrigo and Clancy were laying in their bed watching some TV and Clancy said "They did a good job. You've never looked better Hun."
"Could you not call me Hun. It's gay."
"I am a woman now, and besides better get in the habit. We'll be stuck like this for awhile and we're supposed to be a happy married family." Clancy got closer to Rodrigo to snuggle up and said "Also I know it's probably the hormones and nanobots talking but it's just comforting to be with you and safe." Rodrigo had a hard time arguing with the last part as he leaned into Clancy as well as they two started to try to get used to their new lives.
