“You have to understand something, when we do these tests, we can’t tell you what monster you are going to be only what subgroup of monster.” Explained the Doctor “new monsters are being for the lack of a better term born every day.”
“I don’t follow.” said Mrs. Maxwell
“If you all were becoming Furry monsters, we could tell you that but not if you were going to be a werecat or a werewolf.” explained the Doctor “We could only tell you the basic outline of what you are becoming.”
“So…I guess the question is what subgroup or we are becoming?” inquired John the second oldest of the five children only his twin sister Mary was older
“You are all becoming a class of monster we call undead.” Announced the Doctor as the entire Maxwell family looked at him in some confusion. “We can’t pinpoint the individual monster you are becoming but you all fall into that subgroup.”
“Undead?” inquired Mr. Mike Maxwell
“Yes, they are monsters like Vampires, Zombies, Ghosts and the like.” Explained the Doctor as everyone in the Maxwell family eyes widened as they looked at him.
“Vampires?” inquired Mary “We could be Vampires, drinking blood and the like.”
“You could be, and your body could change even as you become any of the undead types.” Explained the Doctor “The 1st person to become a ghost changed not only her gender becoming a male ghost but her race as well. Same with Vampires and Zombies…the only good news is that while a Vampire or a Zombie you will drink blood or eat raw flesh it is not human blood/flesh you need. Regular food like cow, chicken and so on will do. Also, you can’t turn another person into a monster by biting them, that is only in the movies.”
“If that is the case then why do we have to go anywhere?” inquired Jennifer “If I become a Vampire, I could still go to school and hang out with my friends at the beach and so on.”
“Two main reasons, first Vampires and Ghosts are extremely sensitive to sunlight it burns them badly to the point that it could kill them which is why the city is domed. You will become nocturnal if you become one of those two. Secondly is more of a cultural thing…we have had people attack for becoming a monster and undead monsters are more likely to be attacked then an elf.” Explained the Doctor “They are seen as eviler by some in the religious communities.”
“I see…” said Susan Maxwell as she looked at family.
“The government has set up a domed city up Washington State, south west of Seattle near the ocean, you will be moving there.”
Announced the Doctor “There are many types of monsters not normally welcomed around people there, succubus, snake people and so on, all call it home. Some have even starting to calling it little Transylvania or Halloween Town.”
The Doctor tried to make that part into a joke, no one found it funny.
“Well there is a few good things, vampires are not undead as you see in the movies, neither are zombies or ghosts…there was actually a baby ghost born only a few days ago in fact from a couple who meet as ghosts.” Explained the Doctor “Same for Vampires and Zombies.”
“That makes no sense.” Said Susan
“And humans becoming Monsters do mom?” inquired one of her twin boys
“Your lives will also be longer, between three to four times as long in fact…you should all expect to “live” between 225 to 300 years if you become a Vampire or a Ghost and Zombies live at least to 150 or so.” explained the Doctor
“If you call it living.” Added the second of her twin boys.
“How…how long do we have?” inquired Mike Maxwell
“Your cases are pretty far along, you delayed in coming here when you first saw signs….3 to 4 days until your changes begin….10 to 12 days until they are done.” announced the Doctor like he was passing a death sentence. “You should all head out to Washington State….as soon as possible.”
