In excitement, Mary wanted to try out her new body and see, what she was capable of. She new, that she can run very fast. But now, that she could think clear again, she first wanted to try her speed again. Checking the opposite wall, it must be 30 or 40 feet away. She prepared to start running but as soon as she though about to start running, she was already at the wall. This time, she managed to decelerate in time as she was prepared for that. This was not really beneficial, she thought as she decided to go outside to look for a longer distance to repeat the test.
Within a second she was standing in the backyard of her home at least 100 feet away form the spot she started. She also opened 4 doors on her way outside. It looks like not only my legs are super fast, she thought. She decided to give her old 6 mile jogging route a try. She always needed over an hour, even on a good day. She made a short visit in her bedroom, grappling her mobile phone and was back in 2 seconds. I can get used to this, she thought.
Selecting the stopwatch on her phone, Mary started the clock and began to run into the woods, jumping over trees and running around a lake before she was back in her backyard. She stopped the time and was shocked when she read the numbers. She estimated that the sound would need about 30 seconds for the 6 miles but she made it in just under 20 seconds. In enjoyment she noticed, that she not even breathed heavily. She was far away from looking like someone that had just run 6 miles. With that she went for another leap and another and another until she finished 20 rounds, but still, so signs of exhaustion. She was more energized then ever.
Mary thought about what to test next. She looked at the 4 legs which were coming out of her back and think about what they might be good for. She lowered them to the ground, pushing herself up in one motion. Mary was not hanging horizontally on her own legs and began to walk. It felt strange and natural at the same time but she somehow liked this way to walk. Her "normal" arms and legs were hanging as she walked more like a spider through the backyard. She walked over to the house and placed two feet on the wall, pushing herself up. She felt some kind of grip with her upper legs and pulled her lower legs up, one after another. She was now hanging vertically on the wall as if she was able to do this all her life.
As easy as walking on the ground, Mary moved up the wall and stopped right before the roof. As if gravity lost it's force on her she was able to climb up the wall. Mary reached with one of her hands towards the wall, only touching it with her sharp nails which went a little bit right into the wall. Feeling the grip, Mary released one after another leg until she was holding herself with just one arm. "I'm either very strong or very light", she thought as she was hanging there for almost a minute enjoying the view. She concentrated her arm and shooting herself up several feet before landing on both leg on top of her house.
"This body is so cool", she though and without hesitation she jumped down the three stories easily landing on her legs. Remembering the cracks on the wall in the lab, she discard thought that she must be very light and searched for something to prove the first. She spotted a big container filled with metal waste from her fathers experiments and machines. She bend down and tried to lift it up but pitifully failed as the container did not really move. Looking for something smaller, she spotted her dad's lawn mower tractor. Rushing over to it she grabbed it below the engine and and successfully lifted the front half into the air. It was heavy but manageable. Bending her knees down, she tried to get a better grip on it pushing herself up. She used one pair of her spider legs to support her legs and one pair to support her arms and managed to fully lift he little vehicle. Victorious she put it down exited about her strength.
A strange desire was inside her. She also wanted to lift the container...
