Right at that moment, the elevator gave a cheerful “ding” and the doors opened revealing a partially transformed Kelly and Cheryl. One look at the two partially transformed senior girls and the entire senior class erupted into chaos.
“Oh my gosh, it’s gotta be catching! I don’t want to be a member of the ‘Bucktooth Brigade!’” wailed Jennifer Lewis, the captain of the school’s volleyball team, as she caught sight of Kelly’s unnaturally long front teeth poking over her bottom lip –teeth which were only a smidge shorter than James’ own sizeable chompers.
“Heh-heh, forget about Kelly, how about Cheryl’s feet? What is she, like a size 25 or something!” chuckled Sam Herbert, a member of the school’s football team glancing at Cheryl’s mostly bunnified footpaws that were barely contained by her open-toed sandals. Cheryl’s eyes grew wide as her eyes traveled from the tops of James’s grey triangular ears down to his large three-toed feet that were practically as long and furry as her own. Looking over at Mikhail, her jaw almost dropped to the floor at the sight of the Russian exchange student’s short brown tail poking out of the back of his shorts. “Oh wow, they’ve changed too!” exclaimed the drama nerd in awe.
The noise in the hotel lobby began to increase as the remainder of the senior high school students started to check one another for the beginnings of their own feared transformations. “We might need to step in here,” said Mac the Lion shaking his maned head at Larry the Mouse. “These kids are acting like this is a bad thing when it’s really an incredibly gift for humans to get ‘tooned.” Mac was surprised, however, at how much they’d already changed. Normally, Toonification in humans was a slow process that began with just a small patch of ink and paint fur on the arm or maybe just a sudden desire to tell extra corny jokes. For four humans to suddenly change this much was unusual, even for ToonWorld. Just as the leonine front desk clerk began to head toward the elevators…
