For the first section of the class, both Victor and Miles chose to remain quiet, simply listening in to Mrs. Arroyo's lecture and her explanation of the lab experiment they were going to be performing in the class's second half. But on the inside, Victor and Miles were still bubbling.
For Miles, his stomach was still churning with the facts of his day. Something incredibly odd was happening to him. He didn't want to admit what he suspected, but at this point he couldn't deny it any longer: He and Victor were turning into girls. But how? And why? And how could he stop it? Miles cringed just wondering what the very next change would be.
For Victor, there was still a little bit of that worry in his head. But his head was also filling up slowly with lots more positive things. Scripts for plays he had been in, favorite film musicals and performances, inspirations of the stage and screen. Although for now he was still distinctly Victor, there was something so appealing to the dramatic thoughts now possessing his headspace.
Finally, it was time for the lab experiment to begin. Miles and Victor agreed to be lab partners, one because they always did, but also they decided that they needed to stick by each other. They really seemed to be the only ones that truly understood what was happening to them, and if anything else began to happen, they needed to stick by each other.
Usually, the two would just perform the experiment in simple silence, occasionally commenting on a recent sporting event or simply reminding the other what needed to be done. But today, Victor felt very energetic. Victor began to make little comments and jokes as he mixed the chemicals together, caring less and less about his feminine voice, and actually starting to enjoy it a bit more. Victor even had a song stuck in his head, and he began to sing.
"Look for the Bare Necessities
The simple Bear Necessities.
Forget about your worries and your strife...
Miles look on in a bit of awe as Victor continued to sing. Victor's voice was absolutely beautiful! For a brief moment, Miles completely forgot about the situation he was in.
"Wow, Victor, that voice is beautiful, I gotta say." Miles said, as he wrote some notes.
"I know, right? I'm getting used to it now. It gives me a cool talent at least! Now, let's put a little kaboom in here." Victor said. He couldn't believe he liked the voice now, but he was starting to feel it truly fit him. He was more confident than he had been in ages, and it felt really good!
