Not wanting to lose it, and partially due to the ring's enchantment, Alex slid the ring onto his right hand.
"Shit, gotta get going, don't wanna be-" He started to hustle before getting a call on his phone. Alex pulled it out and raised an eyebrow at the caller I.D. "Really, a call from Steve now?" He thought.
"Whats up Steve? You doing nothing tonight?" Alex said before adding in "Not like anything is happening tonight...."
"Hey Alex, sorry to bother you again, but I've got a few things to take care of first. You should come back later tonight though; we're having our annual party!"
"Oh? What do you mean?" Alex asked.
"You know how we always have a party the night before our big game? Well this year, it's going to be even more special." Steve explained.
"We do?"
"Yeah, don't you remember? Our last game was last year, and we actually won! It's going to be our party to celebrate, so don't be late!"
Alex frowned as he quickly tried to think back.
"Wait, we won last year? Since when?" He asked.
"Oh come on man! Don't you remember our annual game?" Steve said in a slightly raised voice, as if annoyed that Alex had forgotten.
"Not really, but I suppose we did win."
"Of course we did! How could you forget such a glorious moment man!" Steve said very loudly, as if the win was the most important thing in the world.
"Alright fine, I'll come. What time?"
"Oh come on now, you know the rules! We have to make sure you're there early! Come on over now! I'll see you here." Steve said.
"Yeah, see you there." Alex said as he hung up, and began to walk to Steve's place.
