Hailey was sorted onto a bus with the rest of the students bound for elementary school. During the ride, Professor Freeman introduced herself as the head of the elementary school segment of the program and explained that they'll be required to submit their reports with an attached copy of each of their report cards. Her grading were based on standards set for the abilities of elementary schoolers which meant he required grammatically correct paragraphs with clean handwriting that takes up most of at least one page. A lot of the students seemed offended by the woman's sing song tone, it seemed to them as if she thought she was addressing a group of hapless elementary schoolers.
Hailey wasn't overly concerned with the professor's tone and instead found herself excited for this opportunity. It definitely wasn't what she was expecting, but it seemed like the experience was going to be beneficial. Though going back to elementary school made her nervous, getting that young was undoubtedly going to be very odd.
When they arrived at the Immersion Center, Hailey was directed by the staff into a booth. Once she stepped in, a door slid up sealing her inside. Outside she saw a man typing into a panel on the side of the booth. When he was done, he flipped a switch and the booth lit up and Hailey felt energy surge through her body.
It wasn't just her body that began changing in response, her clothes also seemed to be shifting. After a few moments everything came to an abrupt stop and Hailey had a chance to examine herself. She was way shorter and lighter and obviously lacking any short of physical development that came with puberty.
The first word that came to mind when looking at her clothes were "cutesy". Smiling at the bright colors and bows, Hailey though she looked like a princess. She hoped she'd have time to play princess with her dollies before bedtime.
Hailey's attention returned to her surroundings when the door to the booth dropped down in front of her, she looked up to see Professor Freeman. Hailey looked up attentively to the grown up.
The Professor looked over a form and then said, "Hi there Hailey. Are you feeling alright?"
Hailey nodded, "Uh huh!"
Giving a warm smile the professor explained, "Ok sweetheart. You're 5 now and enrolled in kindergarten at Jefferson Elementary. Sound good?"
"Yep!" Hailey replied enthusiastically.
The Professor directed Hailey back to the bus and told her to make sure she buckled herself in. Hailey obediantly headed off in that direction. She was excited to be going home soon. Though now she realized, she wasn't sure if that meant her actual home or a new one.
