You wait while the buffering wheel on your phone cycles a few times, and look forward to the challenge of the next sentence. That's right, you'd show that snarky app. You could change any sentence about yourself to give it a more positive connotation about yourself. That'd teach those developers to mess with a writer.
The buffering wheel disappears, but you are distracted before you notice it. That's because all of a sudden, your tailbone starts throbbing . It's even worse than when you drive for hours in that uncomfortable seat in your broken-down car with relatively no shock absorbers. You curl into the fetal position on the couch, your butt in the air, hoping for some relief. You're so uncomfortable, you don't realize that your pajama-like pants have slid down a bit. Suddenly, the pain stops, replaced by a disconcerting feeling that you can't quite explain. However, you exhale gladly thanks to the respite. You start to sit back on your knees, and noticing your pants sitting rather low on your bum, you reach around to pull it up, only to find...
"What the...?!"
There's something resting over the top of your pants. No, not just resting, twitching . And not only that, you can feel it twitching. And as it brushes against your hand, you can feel your hand through...
"A TAIL?" you screech in disbelief. Not just any tail, mind you. It looks like...a CAT tail. You grab it, and it slides smoothly through your hands due to the soft fur. It takes a second before you leap to your feet and scramble to your bedroom mirror. And there it is, coming out of the end of your spine. You are definitely more cat-like now.
"That's not possible..." you mutter weakly. Your tail begs to differ as it swishes back and forth in what seems like defiance. The score definitely stands app: 1, you: 0.
"Wait, the app!" you gasp in realization. It is real! So maybe it could change you back! You run to the couch where your phone lay forgotten, and immediately hit the button to generate a new sentence.
"The woman regrets getting some tail."
Damn that app. It must be doing it on purpose. But...how? And how could you change yourself back? As you analyze the sentence, you hesitate. Even if it could turn you back to normal, what if it made things worse? And what about those awareness settings? What did they mean? A tail you could hide for now, but something else...Should you experiment with the app on someone else? Or just go for it?
