She didn't hit the details button to look at what options the preset included. Sherry at first didn't notice anything wrong, the Chronivac just displayed a progress bar slowly moving from 0 toward 100%. She tried to play solitaire...but the program seemed to be making the computer run rather slow...she'd have to have her husband looked at it. "So much for that," Sherry mumbled as she left the Chronivac running and went to get a drink, thinking the program was some kind of malware.
At the same time, across the street, Janice sat down on the couch for a few moments of relaxation. Janice had two kids...a little girl named Margaret, who everyone called Peggy, who wasn't even three yet, and an older boy, Eddie, who was seven. Her husband, Larry, was outside in the yard mowing the grass.
Eddie was watching TV and Peggy was playing with her toys. Janice stiffled a yawn. Looking after two kids was exhausting.
"Mommy needs a nap," Peggy said, turning from where she was playing, putting down the toys.
No, she didn't. She was wide awake.
Eddie, meanwhile, changed the channel from cartoons to the local news.
