Kenneth was sorted onto a bus with the rest of the students bound for elementary school. During the ride, Professor Mahoney introduced himself as the head of the elementary school segment of the program and explained that they'll be required to submit their reports with an attached copy of each of their report cards. His grading was based on standards set for the abilities of elementary schoolers which meant he required grammatically correct paragraphs with clean handwriting that takes up most of at least one page. A lot of the students seemed offended by the man's sing song tone, it seemed to them as if he thought he was addressing a group of hapless elementary schoolers.
Kenneth wasn't overly concerned with the professor's tone and instead found himself getting anxious about this opportunity. It definitely wasn't what he had hoped for, and he was not looking forward to becoming that young again. On the other hand, it could have been much worse for him. He was grateful that he doesn't have to wear diapers.
When they arrived at the Immersion Center, Kenneth was directed by the staff into a booth. Once he stepped in, a door slid up sealing him inside. Outside he saw a man typing into a panel on the side of the booth. When he was done, he flipped a switch and the booth lit up. Kenneth felt energy surge throughout his body as he made his way through puberty in reverse.
It wasn't just his body that began changing in response, but his clothes also seemed to be shifting. After a few moments everything came to an abrupt stop and Kenneth had a chance to examine herself. He was much shorter and scrawny, obviously lacking any development that cam with puberty. Staring at the racecar t-shirt and grey sweatpants, Kenneth was in disbelief that he was actually a boy again. He even pulled back the waistband to see how his groin had fared. He did not bother to look at his privates; the sight of the Pokémon underwear covering them was enough to confirm the reality.
Kenneth's attention returned to his surroundings when the door to the booth dropped down in front of him. Professor Mahoney asked him to come out of the booth, which the boy obediently did. He looked attentively up to the grown-up.
The Professor looked over a form and then said, "Hi there Kenneth. How are you feeling?"
"Alright, but it feels a bit strange," Kenneth said, "Everything looks so big now, and my voice sounds funny."
"You'll get used to it soon," the professor said before reviewing the form. His attention then returned to Kenneth and explained, "Anyway, you're 8 years old now and enrolled at Jefferson Elementary as a third grader. Sound good?"
"I guess so," Kenneth said, "Better than being a baby again."
The Professor directed Kenneth back to the bus and told him to make sure he buckled himself in. Kenneth obediently headed off in that direction. He was anxious about going home soon as he realized that he would have to live with a different family. He had hoped that the family was at least well off, but given that he ended up younger than he had hoped, Kenneth could not hold his breath.
