Brutus had a lot to do. His house was still mostly empty. He'd had to make breakfast for himself this morning...and other than cereal, the only hot food he knew how to make was with a microwave. At the least, he needed to hire someone to tend to the house and the food situation.
While he could hire someone to walk Emily, it was something he personally enjoyed. And girls loved Emily as well, and saw him as a sensitive guy. Emily was a purebred American human, not a mixed breed, a beautiful creature. He knew, not that he planned on selling her, that she was worth a lot if he ever chose to breed her.
And when he looked into her eyes, he saw unconditional love....not much else. She was a human after all. But, in a world where a lot of people pretended to like him for his wealth, Emily didn't even know what money was.
"We're going to be looking for someone to help me clean up after you," he said, as if talking to a small child. "And to watch you when I have to go away...and to take care of the house..."
Emily jumped up and down...she didn't know what he was talking about, but she responded more to the tone than anything else.
