You look around nervously and silently close the door behind you. Walking back to the holding cell, you get a better glimpse of the animal it contains. It is definitely humanoid in appearance, standing six feet tall and bipedal. The smooth bumpy texture of its skin immediately reminds you of a scaly reptile. The long tail and overall features seem to confirm this hypothesis. Its hands and feet are edged with blunt claws and webbed like a frog, suggesting this is a creature equally able on land and water. When you happen to get a good look at the reptile’s face, the realization of what you are looking at finally makes a connection with your brain. You see the long arching crest, the beak reminiscent of a duck’s. This is a hadrosaur, a freaking parasaurolophus to be exact!
You gasp in astonishment and finally manage to whisper "Whoa!" The hadrosaur claps its beak in a slight laugh and leans against the bars of the cell. "Listen, come here, quick." It can talk! Sounds like a female, though the voice is pretty raspy. Excited beyond measure at your discovery, you eagerly walk over to the bars and are less than a few inches from the incarcerated impossible thing urging you over. "You’re in trouble, pal. I know I look like a dinosaur right now, okay? I wasn’t always like this. Not too long ago I used to be a human like you. You have to get out of here!"
"What’s your name?" you ask quickly. She pauses, slightly taken aback. "Name? I-I don’t know. They made it so I won’t remember that kind of thing. They call me number 86 all the time. Look, I mean it! You don’t have a lot of time! Get out of here now before they change you into one of us! Just go." You decide that despite this amazing creature before you now, you would do well to follow her warning. You turn towards the door and reach for the handle just as it turns and Dr. Hurley pushes it open flanked by two armed security guards with some kind of dart gun drawn!
