"You sure this is the what you want for yourself?" Nick asks, clutching the potion in his hand. Margaret was still making the decision. Should she take the potion, or not. "Could you repeat what the potion does again?" she asked, a nervous expression on her face. Nick sighed. He lifted up the potion. "This bottle contains a special liquid that, when drank, will slowly turn a normal human being into a common farm animal." he paused. "It is random, of course, so it's a win or lose type of situation." he stopped again to put the potion down on a barrel. "If you were to be a pig, there's literally nothing to give, except for maybe your meat or strength.
Margaret shuddered at the thought of being half pig. But, would she really take this chance? She definitely did not have enough money to feed both herself and her animals. All that's left is her dog, a few hens and chicks. Her last cow was sold a few weeks back. She wasn't producing a whole lot anymore, and keeping her was a pain, so she eventually had to sell her for 200 silver coins. Not a lot in terms of cattle, but it was enough to get some more food.
"I'll take it!" she said confidently, her hands cuffed into fists. Nick hands her the bottle. "Remember, this is a long-effects potion. The first signs of it working should be tomorrow morning, judging on the sun's positioning right now." he says. "I'm giving it to you, for free, as a friend." he said, a slight smile on his face. "Be safe, and don't do anything stupid with it." he said, walking towards her gate. "I'll see you tomorrow, at the market."
Margaret waves goodbye, and then walks back inside. As she sits down on the table, she opens the potion. Surprisingly, it smelled pretty good. The farmers in her kingdom weren't very well treated or respected, so this was her first time ever handling an expensive item like this. She starts to drink it, taking light slips, until the whole bottle was finished. She hoped and prayed that her transformation would not end up as a failure, and that she wouldn't live the rest of her life as a freak.
The rest of the night, she just laid down on her bed. As the candle flame dimmed, so did her consciousness, as she drifted off to sleep. The potion had worked it's way into her body, beginning to change her slightly. She couldn't feel it, but her body started to grow. It was only slight changes, but for the next few days, her physiology would change drastically.
