You can't help but grin at Jinn's confidence, but your grin is hidden as you bury your face in his velvety-black fur. Your mind wanders to what sort of adventures you and Jinn could have in the wild, roaming around as two mountain lions. Maybe you could get Jinn to be less evasive about himself...well, herself...but then again, if he's "himself," could you get even closer...
That thought snaps you back to reality. Jinn would only be around as long as no one else found the lamp and you didn't have to use your third wish. That meant you had to find someplace safe for the lamp. Banks could get robbed. Buried treasure can be uncovered. Even if it were an option, would having it sent to the depths of space count as losing the lamp? With your luck, an alien might find it.
"Master, you seem to have something on your mind," Jinn asks leisurely, morphing within your arms from a large black panther to a fur-covered boy about the same age as your current form, with panther ears and tail just like you. You can't help but get a little self-conscious again considering the close contact, but Jinn's mischievous grin makes you wonder if that was Jinn's intention all along.
"Ahem.." you clear your throat, then try to proceed as naturally as possible. "You know, Jinn, I still have a few things to take care of as a human, since I don't want to just drop everything and have people come searching for me. So...I was thinking...why don't you stay here as a human for a little while? Then once I get my preparations done, we can go roam around as we like. Anyway, you might enjoy being a human for a bit, we can go out and have some fun. It's not a wish, so you don't have to if you don't want to..."
Jinn gives you an inscrutable laugh, although with his current form, it just sounds like childish amusement.
"That sounds quite interesting, Master," Jinn replies, giving you a knowing smile. "Of course, I will remain by Master's side in whatever form is most convenient until my task is complete." You can't help but feel that response is a little shady, but you push that aside since you're happy Jinn agreed.
"Well, it'll only be for a little while," you respond, trying to think of the best form for Jinn.
