Eric was still finding it hard to believe that the semi-naked girl was her mother. I mean she looked nothing like Maureen and was certainly behaving nothing like the mother she knew. What was going on?
To make it even stranger the petite girl who was really Ted called out "Looking good Maureen!" and burst into a fit of giggling. She didn't seem the least bit worried that her spouse was carrying on like a college girl on vacation. Eric didn't say anything - What could she say?
"Da da dada! Da da dada!" Maureen sashayed up to the table, not the least bit concerned that her son/daughter was watching her. "Here goes" she reached out and touched her token on the purple square.
The change was instantaneous. The new Maureen could have been the identical twin of the real Nikki. She was short, had Nikki's hair and Amy's face. She was also now wearing the same clothes as Nikki, including the heels. However there was one big difference and that was what everyone else gasped about. Maureen was covered in jewellery. Jen's idea had come to fruition. Maureen's hands were covered in rings. Her arms with bracelets and she had multiple necklaces around her neck. It seemed she had created a duplicate of all the jewels Jen was wearing.
There was pandemonium as Maureen began taking the jewellery off and with the help of the other girls started naming which of the gems were diamonds or other precious stones, what was gold and what was silver. Eric watched as the other girls including the former Ted began asking for various items. Maureen must have been feeling generous. She was handing out expensive looking items to anyone. Soon enough Amy, Nikki and the girl who was calling herself Belinda were adorning themselves with Maureen's discards.
Meanwhile Jen had a very smug look on her face as she began taking the original jewellery off and putting it away in her box.
Maureen must have noticed Eric just being an onlooker. She presented Eric with a matching ring and a necklace both with a brilliant blue stone. "Don't be shy Nikki! There's plenty to go around. Way too much for me. These would look great on you. I think they are emeralds" She put the ring on Eric's finger "It fits"
"Ahh.... Thanks" Eric accepted the proffered necklace, however as soon as Maureen turned away she removed the ring.
"Three cheers for Jen and her great idea!" yelled someone. Everyone seemed to be sharing Jen's voice. That seemed to prompt the girls to have a group hug. Eric found herself in the midst of it.
It was several minutes before everything finally calmed down. Eric was able to escape the chaos and took the opportunity to go to the bathroom and check out her reflection. She was joined a minute or so later by two other girls. She guessed it was Amy and Nikki but could not be sure.
"Amy?" she asked the taller girl.
"Yep"
"What the hell has happened to my parents? Why are they behaving so strangely?"
"They are just having fun. I think they must have that wish of your Mum's"
"What wish of Mum's?"
"I think she made it for you and your Dad . If I remember right she wanted you to behave like the young woman you were rather than men in female bodies"
"So she would have got that for herself. Dad clearly got it at some stage. He's forgotten who he is"
"No doubt. She is behaving exactly as a 21 year old girl would and that is who she currently is for the night. I think it's great. You should let your hair down and have fun too"
"Exactly!" said the third girl. "I think for the rest of the night you should be Nikki"
Eric looked at the short girl with Amy's face and Jen's voice "Aren't you Nikki?"
"Not for tonight. You look like Nikki. You can be Nikki. I'll be Emily. I doubt your parents will know any different"
"Mum certainly thinks I'm you"
"And why wouldn't she?" said Amy "You look like Nikki and if I'm not mistaken I think you got Jen's wish as well"
"What wish was that?"
"She wished for Nikki's elegance. I'm fairly certain you have it. The way you sat. The way you're standing now. You just have it! Everything about you shouts 'Classy'"
"Keep her here Amy" said the real Nikki. "I'm going to fetch some things"
