School was over, Junior now just a memory for Gloria and her friends. With only one more year of high school remaining the now 17 year old girls found themselves entering an unfamiliar world. The working world.
Gloria and all her friends now found themselves preparing for a summer of employment. While still a couple of weeks away the teens now excitedly talked about what lay in store for them as they laid out by Felicia's pool.
"So you're actually going to be working part time at the Magic Shop this summer," Sasha asked Gloria. Gloria nodded as she bow applied a generous amount of sunscreen to herself.
"Yeah I can't wait," she said excitedly. "Who cares that its minimum wage. The chance to work with Merlin and possibly learn some new spells, whats not to love."
"Plus air conditioning," Jackie added. "Sasha hear is going to be stuck fixing vara at her dad's shop all summer in the heat."
"Its going to be totally worth it though," Sasha said happily. "Just look." The others now watched as the raven haired teen reached into her bag producing a picture of a motorcycle. "A motorcycle," Jackie asked, raising an eyebrow. "You're buying a motorcycle."
"Correction I bought a motorcycle," Sasha beamed. "I've been saving up. Dad says that if I help out at the shop he'll let me fix it up there so that way if I need help I have a bunch of pros to ask. By the time school starts you'll see me pulling in on this baby."
"I don't know," Jackie said softly. "I mean, we're graduating in a year. Now is the time to start planning for the future. Why do you think I'm interning at the office this summer."
"To be with Ann," the others sighed in unison. Jackie blushed fiercely as her friends gave her a dubious look.
"No thats not um the reason," Jackie stammered. "I'm um, interested in um....business."
The others simply rolled their eyes as Jackie fidgeted in place. While working with Ann, Stephanie, and Megan did have its perks, she honestly did wish to experience what the business world had to offer.
"Relax Jackie," Felicia smiled. "Look I get it. Why do you think I'm so excited to be working as a lifeguard with Adam at the Golf Club. An entire summer working on my tan, hanging out by the pool with my boyfriend. But, I di have one question, how are you going to explain you and Ann to Stephanie and Megan? Don't they think you two are both adults?"
"Already covered," Jackie stated. "Me and Ann kinda said that I was turned into a teenager by magic."
The others simply nodded, shrugging their shoulders at Jackie's explanation. After everything Stephanie and Megan had seen stating that Jackie had been turned into a teenager instead of Ann dating a teenager would make things less awkward.
"So what about you Diane," Felicia asked. "Got any plans this summer."
"This one roped me into working at the comic shop this summer," Diane stated gesturing to her long time girlfriend Naomi.
"Hey you like comics," Naomi countered. "Plus its air conditioned and you get to hang out with me all day."
"I hangout with you all day now," Diane teased, giving her girlfriend a coy smile.
"Yeah but now you get paid to do it."
Gloria and Sasha sighed, their shoulders slumping at their friends plans with their significant others. "Sorry you guys," Naomi blushed. "But hey, maybe there's a summer romance in your future?"
"Its okay," Gloria smiled. "Me and Nate? Well, we just decided we were better as friends than a couple."
"And its not Riley fault his dad got a job in another state," Sasha added.
"Lokk girls," Diane smiled. "Its our last summer as high schoolers. We've beaten Morgan Lefay, faced down Lilith, stopped Villar, and saved the world from Fukushu. Let's go out an have the best summer EVER!"
Gloria smiled as the girls now cheered in agreement. Hopefully the the group they would.
