Hesitation? What was the system on about? His changes were perfect! He'd gone through each category in turn and fine tuned Chris into the perfect, feminine male, the perfect contrast to himself. What was there to hesitate about? He moved the cursor close to the proceed button, ready to apply the changes, ready to enjoy what he'd come up with but something now nagged at him.
He stopped, and he thought. He sighed as he clicked 'review' instead and was returened to the menu, the avatar of his reformed Chris standing there expectantly, waiting to be born. He stared at it. Something WAS nagging at him. Thanks to his changes to himself, he had a far higher than normal intelligence and a superior capacity to reason. Where had he gone wrong. It was as he removed his sticky fist from around his throbbing erection that it hit him. He'd allowed his self control to slip just a bit in the throes of his lust, his curiousity getting the better of him. The sparkling sprite on the screen before him begged the question, how could something so beautiful be real? And that was it, it wasn't real. He had exceeded the limits of plausibility in some of his changes. The artifice would begin to gnaw at him.
But it wasn't too far from what his true ideal would be, he had simply gone to a little bit of excess. He didn't want a girly boy, didn't want the perfect feminine male. He wanted the perfect apex of adolescent beauty. He began making minute adjustments, toning down curves where there shouldn't be any, altering the face slightly here and there, increasing the height to a five foot five rather than a five foot one.
Chris would still be a beautiful boy, probably the most beautiful adolescent in world and but he'd be the masculine side of that androgyny, unmistakably male. The system had saved him from a mistake, and taught him that not even the changes he had made on himself made him immune from the follies of passion.
NOW he was ready. He clicked submit, waiting for the system to judge whether his changes were acceptable or in error. The cursor spun and then, clearly, accepted the alterations. Daren's heart was thudding in his chest, he wished to fly from the room to behold what Chris had become. But again, he mastered himself. There was still one thing left to do.
He opened a custom scenario window and input a new command. 'Chris will never be able to interact with any form of Chronivac or equivalent program, nor will Chris be able to use any other method to alter reality.' He wasn't stupid, he wasn't going to allow a slip of the mind to ever allow Chris to turn the tables. A bit of care and foresight with the tool at the beginning would prevent any disasters later on.
He was sure such a decision was made amongst most people who were given Chronivac. This was obvious common sense!
'Scenario Accepted'.
The modifications were complete. Daren was ready now. He turned off the computer, rose from his seat, strode out into the landing and gently pushed the door of their shared bedroom open.
