"Hmm, I swear I was about to change the store... but why didn't I? Why would I even try to change my favorite shoe place?" She whispered to herself, attempting to make sense of it all. That's when her train of thought was quickly derailed. She nearly jumped as the ring to her phone startled her.
"Oh, it's Jacob." She remarked, checking the caller ID. "I wonder what they want." She thought before answering.
"Yes sweetie?" She answered.
"Uh, hello Mom." He greeted, sounding a bit nervous.
"What's wrong?" She asked. "Wait... shouldn't you be at school?" She wondered aloud.
"Y-yeah, I am. But uh... I need you to come to school." He replied.
"Why Jacob?" She asked, instinctually placing one hand on her hip as she had gotten angrier.
"Well, it's not my fault for one thing! Greg was being a dick and-" He began to explain when Jenna interrupted.
"Forget it. I'm sure I'm about to hear all about it from your principal." She scolded before hanging up.
Jenna strut out of the mall, her mind fuming. She had forgotten all about her confusion with the app as her focus was now on her son, Jacob. He was the oldest of two kids, being 16 years old now. He was clearly the son of two attractive people, as Jenna so modestly always thought.
He had brown hair like her husband Derek, but it was curly as Jenna's. He was tall like her father, having a decent figure and was fairly bright. However, he was very rebellious. He wore dirty, poorer looking clothes. He always hung out with obscene crowds and dated far too many girls of questionable character.
Whenever people even referenced his parent's wealthy background he would likely fight them. He always tried to disrespect authority and took it upon himself to try and befriend anyone who just might be "fun" in his eyes.
Jenna sighed as she got into her Tesla, fixing her diamond necklace so it no longer fell between her breasts. She sighed to herself.
"Honestly, I don't know why he's like this. So spoiled and rebellious." She thought, somehow un-ironically.
As she continued to drive, her mind thought over Jacob. If only he was more like his little sister. She was so sweet and caring. Maybe if he just had even a slight interest tweak he could be on a better track. Jenna often wondered exactly how she would raise her son if she had been given a second chance to do so. Her mind raced, when it suddenly found itself back at the app which she processed, causing her to smile.
Jacob stood outside the school's front gate, nervously awaiting his mother's arrival. She was a kind mother, sure, but oh boy when she was angry she was a whole new monster. Jacob, however, continued to reassure himself that it couldn't be helped what happened. Greg made fun of his clothes, and his buddy Frank to boot.
His mother pulled up, stepped out of the car, and gave Jacob a suspiciously warm smile.
"H-hi Mom." Jacob greeted.
"Hi honey." She greeted as she casually pulled her phone out from her designer purse.
"You, don't sound mad..." Jacob cautiously noted.
"Oh, I'm furious." She replied. "But, I have a solution." She explained.
Jenna selected Jacob's icon, and it generated a sentence.
"A 16 year old boy is very nervous."
Jenna smiled, causing Jacob to worry, unaware reality was about to change.
