“Guys,” Jack said, bursting though the door into the kitchen.
Carter was startled by this and yelled suddenly, “What?” He asked. Teddy looked up to see Jack with the box in his hand.
“I bought a game!” Jack said,
“You really burst in here just to tell us that?” Teddy said,
“Well... yeah. It’s supposed to be 18 plus. So it’s probably fun. It was only 10 bucks so it can’t hurt to try it,”
“Well... we aren’t doing anything, are we,” Carter asked Teddy,
“Nope. I’ll wake up Corey,” Teddy responded. He walked over to the couch and woke up a messy haired Boy. He had fallen asleep while looking at his phone.
They all sat down at the table, Corey sat down last, yawning as he did. He noticed everybody looking at him, “What?” He looked down at her chest. He realised most of his abs was showing, his top must’ve been nudged while He was asleep.
“Okay, so. I had a look through the instructions. The game said that all players have to 18+ to play,” Jack began,
“And, you know we’re all 13,” Carter said,
“I’m 14!” Corey quickly chimed in,
“Still,” Teddy said, “we’re all under 18,”
“I know.” Jack said, “that’s why I want to play it. It will be fun. I had to tell the chick selling it I was buying it for my ‘older brother’,”
“Okay. So what do we do?” Corey asked,
“Well first,” Jack said grabbing the instructions, “we each pick one of the rings and place it on your index finger,”
“Which one is that?” Corey asked,
“The one you point with,” Teddy told him,
“Got it,” he said, smiling back,
“Then...” Jack said, he reached into the box and pulled out a bag of the rings and a crystal ball looking thing. It was metal and had a large glass ball clutched in the middle. Held up by a tripod, “it says to just put them on,”
“Nothing else? Not how to play?” Carter asked, “you said you read the instructions,”
“Well... I read the back of the box. It said stuff about how it’s always fun and never repetitive. And said a bunch that it’s 18+,”
“Well, lets just try it. Maybe the ball is battery operated and will tell us what to do or something,” Teddy said,
“That’s likely,” Carter said,
“Well at least let’s try it, it might work or it might now. Putting on a ring won’t be too difficult,”
“Okay,” Carter said.
Jack opened the bag of rings and took out 4. Blue, Red, Yellow, and Green. They were very big.
Carter took the Yellow ring and slipped it on his finger. It didn’t come close to fit him but he just left it.
Jack took the Blue ring, he did the same and it didn’t fit.
Corey took the Green ring, he slipped it on and was disappointed to not see it fit.
Finally, Teddy took the Red ring and slipped it on.
Before their eyes, the ball lit up, with the words:
‘Are all players prepared to play? Players may join later but none shall leave,’
“Told you,” Teddy said to Carter, he rolled his eyes at him.
“Where do we say yes?” Jack asked, quickly the ball glowed green. His ring suddenly shrink and fit around his finger. Not too tight to be uncomfortable, but tight enough to not be able to get it off, “What the hell,”
“Yes,” Carter said, the ball glowed yellow, he felt his ring quickly shrink and get stuck on his finger, “it’s voice activated,”
“Yeah!” Corey said cheerfully. The ball glowed green, looking at his ring shrunk suddenly and he couldn’t get it off either.
“Teddy?” Carter asked,
“I’m not sure I want to do this. I have a weird feeling,”
“Come on, Teddy,” Jack said, “it will be fun. And it won’t be too long. Look it says only 7 rounds on the box,”
“Okay...” he said apprehensively, “I guess... yes?” The ball glowed red, his ring shrunk and was stuck.
The ball changed again. It’s colour went back to white. The text now wrote:
‘All available players are ready. The game will begin with the youngest to oldest player. No players may leave the game or room.’
“That’s weird,” Carter said,
Suddenly a deep yet soothing voice said out of the ball, “the game contains 6 rounds. Each round will cause a player to change physically. Once the first game is over. Other variations are available, such as mental change, animal changes, etcetera. The game will begin, now.”
