Out on the far coast of the ocean. A giant velvet pirate ship was out floating in the sea, as the crew were out catching fish using nets.
The feared and revered pirate, Captain Blackstone, always watched them and made sure the fish they caught were good to keep and eat.
One day while fishing, one of the Blackstone's men caught himself an interesting catch. "Captain, come quick! I think I might have caught a person!"
The Captain came over and saw that there was indeed a person in the net. "Reel it up, boys. Let's see what we caught." His men did just that and the Captain took a closer look.
The crew placed the net down and saw it wasn't a human they caught, in their net, but a merman!
He had a long muscular royal blue tail, a well built swimmer's body, and gills on the sides of his stomach and neck.
He was also decorated with gold bangles and jewelry on his arms as well on his tail. He also had a crown on his head. The merman was completely asleep and didn't stir as the crew took him out of the net.
Captain Blackstone looked at the merman in wonder. "Arr, me mateys! It looks like we caught ourselves a male mermaid, and a royal-looking one at that! Take his jewelry and bangles before he wakes up. They might fetch a nice price."
The pirates did as they were told and took the merman's stuff in storage. Suddenly, the young merman's body began to move.
The merprince started to wake after he took a little nap on the ocean floor. He sat up and found himself with the captain's sword by his neck.
The merprince looked around the ship. "Where am I? What's going on here?" He asked.
"You're on me ship now, merboy. We caught you in one of our nets." Said Captain Blackstone
"I demand you put me back in the ocean this instant! I need to get back to my kingdom." Said the merprince.
"Who do you think you are, fish boy?" Blackstone growled.
"I am Prince Colton. Son of King Damon and Queen Charlotte of the merkingdom. I need to get back home, for I don't want to worry my parents or the kingdom commoners who love me." Said Prince Colton with the assertiveness of royalty.
"I'm afraid I can't do that." Captain Blackwell then placed the sword by Prince Colton's chest.
Throughout the whole commotion of the crew putting Prince Colton's accessories away, a tired young woman came out from the ship's quarters and onto the main deck wearing nothing a pink nightgown and her teddy bear.
The girl's name was Eleanor and she was the beloved daughter of Captain Blackstone. Even though Blackstone had a reputation of being a merciless man when it came to exploring and looting the ocean, he treated Eleanor more gently than a gardener touching a rose. Blackwell loved his daughter, for her blonde hair and gentle voice reminded him of his late wife Alice.
Eleanor was looking through the crowd of the crew, only hearing what was going on so far until she finally caught the sight of Prince Colton.
The young merprince had a stoic expression on his face and didn't seem scared of her father or his sword. Admittedly, she blushed when she saw how handsome he looked, even when facing death.
"Tell me where your kingdom is. Otherwise..." Blackstone said as he then lowered his sword to his tail. "We will cut you up and eat your tail." Said the Pirate Captain.
Eleanor gulped as Prince Colton lowered his head, wondering what to do next.
