Tony Johnson, a 60-year-old man with gray hair and age-wrinkles, is sitting in the oval office of the Whitehouse at the Resolute Desk. Why is this old man sitting at the president’s desk? Well, because HE is the president, however he is an independent, which means that he is neither Republican nor Democrat.
Mr. Johnson is right now talking on the phone with the prime minister of Canada, “Carl, I understand your frustration,” he says, “we both want this bill to finally pass the senate.” The said bill is a “economic-help-bill”, Carl thinks that Canada is not holding up to the rest of the world economically, Tony agrees so he issued this bill to help Carl out.
“Tony, you are the god forsaken president of the US of A,” Carl says irritated over the phone, “so, why don’t you head to the senate and kick those lazy fucks in their arses?”
Tony sighs, “because, Carl, it’d be the last thing I would do and you’ll most certainly never see the money,” he says. He hears Carl sigh, “I will do my best to get this matter done quickly,” he then says, “but since I am independent, both parties have joined forces against me. You think you have no easy life? Well, sorry to disappoint you, MY life is even more fucked.”
There is a long pause, then Carl speaks up, “sorry, Tony,” he says quietly, almost sounding like a small child, “it is just… I just want my country to finally catch up to the rest of the world.”
“It will,” Tony says, “just be patient, I have a feeling that all will turn out great for Canada. Please, trust me.”
Carl sighs, “I trust you, Tony,” he says, “make sure to keep me informed of the proceedings.”
“I will,” Tony says, “now, I have other shit to attend to. We’ll talk soon,” and after Carl says good bye, Tony ends the call. The president leans back into his seat with a huge sigh, his eyes closed.
After a while, Tony takes out his phone and unlocks it, he plans to call the speaker of the House of Representatives. Suddenly his phone notifies him of an advert, “darn these adverts,” Tony grumbles, he is about to delete it when the name of the title catches his eye, “Chronivac, the transformation app?”
Tony raises an eyebrow and opens the add, “is your life miserable? Do you want to change who you are? Dor you want to change someone else? Do you want limitless control over someone,” he starts reading, “then this app is just what you need. The app version of the Chronivac is simple to use, and it is much more easy to handle, since you do not need to carry your laptop around with you. Simply download the app and get started with making your life much more enjoyable.”
Tony had heard of this program before, his 10-year-old nephew told him about it, his nephew wanted to have the PC version, but Tony said “no” and that the kid should stop playing games and finally get more successful in school and work on his grades. “I thought the “Chronivac” was some kind of computer game,” he mumbles to himself, “but... if this program really can do all this, then it should not fall into the wrong hands. I am not convinced and don't believe that a simple program has such power." The president he downloads the app and installs it. "Should I test it on myself or better on something else first," he asks himself.
