Josh and Brandi were play sword fighting in the front yard when suddenly a mail truck came by and dropped off a package.
"Oh cool that might be it!" Josh dropped his toy sword and began rushing towards the front door.
"Aha, never leave yourself unarmed sir knight!" Brandi lunged forward and pushed her foam blade between Josh's arm and chest.
"Gaaaah! For I am slain! Curse you black knight, have you no honor!?" He called out, slowly dropping to his knees.
"Nay!" Brandi guffawed." But I have victory! And thine treasure..." She grabbed the box from the front porch and lifted it into the air triumphant as Josh splayed himself upon the dry grass and stuck his tongue out the side if his mouth. "Ok but, what is it? Brandi inquired poking the boy as he played possum.
"Well" Joshed sprung up to his feet in a quick fluid motion, taking the box from Brandi as he went. "Im not all that sure. The sweepstakes said it was some kind of editor, like a character maker or something."
"Awww that's so cool! We have to try it! Maybe we can make our knights with it!?" Brandi beemed at Josh making him blush. Her face was awfully close to his face and as soon as she noticed she pulled away with her cheeks rosey red.
"Uh well anyways... Let's go to my room and try it!" Josh cleared his throat and swallowed the gushing feelings that were trying to get out. The two preteens ran through the living room and were about to head up stairs when Josh was stopped by the presence of his mother at the base of the stairs
"And where are you to going in a rush?" His mother asked with her arms crossed. Josh and Brandi grew up together, after all Brandi lived next door with her family. When the two were still just friends June didn't feel the need to worry, but now that the two were about to enter their teenage years and were dating she wasn't too comfortable leaving them alone.
"We were just going to go try out my new game, that's all mom." Josh was annoyed but trying his best not to show it.
"Alright, fine, just leave the door open and no funny business." She moved from the stairs to let the kids through.
When the two reached Josh's room, they ripped open the box and were met with a flash drive and a letter which Josh read aloud "Congratulations on being one of the very first beta testers of the Chronivac 4.0 by Transdem Industries. Please install the contents of this flash drive onto your computer and select the correct operating system so that you may experience the joy of truly becoming whoever you wish to be. Just remember to always back up and save your data to an external hard drive if possible. Please use fail safes and exercise caution to avoid data loss. Thank you so much and have fun." He pulled out the drive and put it into his computer to let it install.
"Ill be right back, this is gonna be awesome!" Brandi jumped up and down and ran out of the room and down the hall to the bathroom.
In no time at all the program was fully installed. Josh opened it up on screen and soon he was met with a list of everyone in his house at the time. "Whoa, how did it... do that?" The question was who would he select?
