Sally had a beautiful smile until the wreck smashed her teeth. Her jaws had healed and dentures let her chew her food, but she no longer smiled very much and when she did she never showed her teeth. Humans had the limitation of only growing baby teeth then adult teeth. If only humans could be like sharks with a nearly endless supply of backup teeth!
Sally's father was wealthy and, at his daughter's urging, he funded research exploring the possibility of adding animal DNA to humans that could allow people to recover from injuries they would not normally be able to. When the scientists seemed to have made a breakthrough, Sally eagerly volunteered.
The process seemed a success. After a month new teeth were coming in. It was a difficult time for Sally. The teething process was painful and she went weeks on a liquid diet. By the end of the second month she had a new set of teeth, albeit ones that seemed sharper than normal human teeth. When she could finally eat solid food again, Sally celebrated with a seafood dinner. This surprised her family and friends as she had become a vegetarian in her teens. Sally found herself craving fish more than she ever had in her life and her diet became decidedly pescatarian.
