"One dark and stormy night— Wait no, that's not right... Why can't I get this sounding good?"
"Come on man, you've had the whole ride here to write the damn letter, you seriously haven't even started?"
"Shut up..."
On the outskirts of our solar system, two mischievous beings were conversing... plotting... planning, and arguing.
"Look, these guys are not even on the radar of being contacted, why do you need to make some bullshit story about this?"
"I studied their mythos and 'fairy tales' on the way here, and I don't want this to bite us in the ass later... What if someone finds out about this?"
"Oh come on, they're not even Type 1, it doesn't matter what they do with this, just drop it off, and we'll head somewhere else to lay low."
"I guess you're right, they probably won't even know how to reverse engineer it."
The hunched over figure pushed away his writing utensil and stared at the small box on the desk next to him. He released the latch and stared at the contents. Inside the metallic case was an oddly soft and glowing crystalline padding, cooling his corner of the ship with an emerald hue. Centered in the pillow of crystal was a dark blue device. It was around a foot long and around an inch thick at the base, tapering off to about a half inch at the tip, and was a brilliant cobalt colour, with a small silver button halfway in between. The figure sighed.
"Are you sure this is a good plan?"
"Of course it is! This was the best heist we've pulled in the last decade. We made a killing! The only thing left is that stupid device that nobody wanted to buy. I don't even know what it does."
"Fair enough... Wonder why this was with the rest of the valuables, I mean, the case is the only thing that looks good.
They looked at it one last time before shutting the case.
"We're getting close to the third planet. Just place it on the hatch, I'll drop it."
"Got it, ready when you are."
The figure at the cockpit flipped a switch, sending the case flying out of the ship and plummeting towards Earth, followed by the ship speeding away, leaving no evidence of their crimes with them.
The case sped towards Earth, accelerating and then feeling the friction of the atmosphere, subjecting it to insane amounts of heat. Miraculously, the material it was made out of was durable enough to withstand the heat. It fell to Earth with almost no impact, no shockwave, no flames, and no crater. It landed like someone had simply dropped this anomalous package from a meter high. Immediately, verdant green lines ran from the case, flowing out from the device with in a small radius along the ground.

The lines that gathered data quickly retracted back into the box, returning it to its dormant state. Unbeknownst to the thieves, this device provided an incredible power for those living on a planet teeming with life. Crafted by an unknown civilization, this device could scan a planet's life, and allow the user to transform any other living thing with it, keeping their mind intact. Small changes, like the color of eyes, hair, or skin are as equally as possible as full or even hybrid species changes. However... No instructions were ever included with the device, and even if they could be accessed, effectively leaving it's wielder at the mercy of chance.
The one to find such a mysterious, powerful device is:
