"Mary? What the hell are you talking about?" Rob stares at her wide-eyed. She wants to kill them? Why?
"I am finally freed from that prison, that hell, and you're never going to put me back in there! Never!" Mary flings her hand away from her face, and to Rob and Amanda's astonishment, the wounds inflicted upon them melt away. If not for the blood staining her chest, it was as if they were never there.
"What are you talking about?" Rob asks.
"Who cares?" Amanda growls. "She just destroyed the antidote!"
"All to ensure my advantage over you. As long as you're in that shape, you can never overpower me... and I will be free to wreak havoc upon the world once more!"
"Rob, your new girlfriend's gone crazy," Amanda mutters.
"She's not my -"
"SILENCE!" Mary booms, and to their further surprise, begins to levitate in the air, her eyes glowing a bright green. "Even now, I can feel my power returning to me... this mortal shell will serve me well, yes, it is a perfect vessel for me to... to..."
The glow in her eyes fades, and she drops to the floor with a heavy thud, unconscious. She hits so hard that Rob and Amanda are knocked off their feet.
"What the hell just happened?" Rob asks, trying to help Amanda up.
"I did," a voice answers, a tiny body barely visible from within the shadows. It's hard to tell what it is, but it's not human. "We thought she would have guarded it well, we were wrong. She's our only living descendant, you know. So we thought she would be the one able to keep the evil in its prison... instead, her foolishness let it out. I have banished it to the back of her mind now, but it can return at any moment. In order to save this woman's soul, the three of you must go on a journey, far from this place, to the Temple of Purity, where the evil can once and for all be banished, and your world can be saved."
