Suit’s off, problems remain

Under the warmth of the sun, heat pouring down onto her and radiating up from the deck of the boat, she could feel the moisture evaporating. All the wetness from her time in the ocean was drying up, and as less and less water was present on the surface of the suit, she swore she could feel something loosening. A seperation of sorts, like the skin of an orange peeling away. It was far from painful, thankfully; hope filled Marina as she realized what must have been happening. The suit was finally seperating from her body as she warmed and dried, its hold on her no longer permanent. A hand raised to her neck confirmed that a seal was present once more, and that was all the encouragement she needed.

Yanking at the material, she was both surprised and relieved to find it was flexible, stretching out far enough that her shoulders could get through what had been the neck hole. A fortune thing, considering the lack of any zipper or other way to open it up. With no small amount of frantic concern she pulled the suit down, the medallion dangling against her bare chest as she concerned herself with nothing more than removing the latex. With a yank she pulled one arm completely free of the suit, sighing happily as she looked herself over. The skin was intact, no burns, no cuts, no indents... nothing out of the ordinary.

Until she reached her hand. Her hand that was still webbed, now with skin taught between the fingers.

"Oh no." She frowned as she freed her other hand, finding that it, too, had the same webbing stretched across it. It was skin, the same texture as the rest of her body, but a light blue color. She would have admired the shade, akin to the coloring of the water around a Caribbean beach, had she not been growing concerned with what the rest of her body would look like. Anxiety coursed through her as she considered pulling the suit back on - but she had gone this far. It was taken off to her waist now. Sooner or later, she would have to take a look at what had become of her legs.

With a deep breath, she started pushing the suit the rest of the way off, moving slowly as fear remained high. Marina's heart only truly sank as she saw a bit of light blue poking out from under the suit. There was no way about it - she forced herself to finish the job quickly, before looking out over what had once been her legs. The flesh had merged, becoming a single limb that tapered narrower and narrower out along its considerable length, before finally joining to a wide fin of the same coloration. All covered in that off-color skin. It was her body, and her body was truly that of a mermaid, even without the suit reforming into the shape of such a mythical creature next to her.

There had to be something else. The medallion still around her neck - perhaps if she ripped it off, her body would return to normal? She wasn't quite entirely dry thanks to sweat, so maybe removing that moisure would return it to normal? There was, too, the possibility of slipping the suit back on, and just hiding the state of herself beneath it until she figured something else out. Or... maybe an answer lay out in the ocean. The water certainly looked inviting right now. And... hell... maybe a little swim like this wouldn't be so bad... would it?
