After talking with Connor and his parents for about 30 minutes, Ryan left the Ross household in order to help his dad with everything that they needed for Connor to join their pride. Connor planned to head over to Ryan’s place around noon. Until then, he wasn’t entirely sure what all to do to pass the time. As he was about to head upstairs to his room in order to unpack the bag he had brought over to Ryan’s the night prior, there was a knock on the front door.
“Connor, could you get the door?” his mother called from the kitchen.
“Sure thing mom,” Connor called back, getting up from the couch and quickly making his way over to the front door. He opened the door to see Tad standing on the other side. Tad immediately smiled when he saw Connor open the door. The young man then proceeded to open the storm door and partially step out of the house.
“Tad? What are you doing here?” Connor asked. While he was always happy to see one of his oldest friends at his door, especially now that they lived in the same neighborhood again, Connor didn’t expect to see Tad this early in the morning.
“Hey man!” Tad said rather enthusiastically. “Sorry to drop by unannounced, but I wanted to come over and ask you how your date went last night?
“Oh! Things went really well actually,” Connor responded. “If you want, you can come inside and we can talk a bit more about it.”
“Sure, I’d love to,” Tad responded. Connor fully opened the storm door and held it open for Tad. As he walked inside the house, Connor closed both doors behind them.
“Who was at the door Connor?” Diana Ross called from the kitchen.
“It’s just Tad, mom,” Connor called back. “We’re going up to my room to talk a bit about last night.”
“Okay, sounds good to me,” Diana responded as the two young men quickly went upstairs, with Connor leading the way to his room. When the two of them got to Connor’s room, Tad sat down on the edge of Connor’s bed, with Connor sitting down next to him.
“Alright, you gotta tell me how your date went last night,” he said. “Are you and Ryan a thing now?”
Connor laughed nervously, breaking eye contact with Tad and scratching the back of his head. “Oh jeez…where do I begin? We really didn’t do much, but it was…absolutely incredible. We went out to eat at the diner before going back to his house and…you know…But yeah, we’re a thing now.”
A huge smile appeared on Tad’s face as he wrapped his right arm around Connor’s shoulder. “Dude, that’s great! I knew you and Ryan would hit it off! I’m so happy for you!”
Connor laughed nervously again, a bit of an embarrassed blush appearing on his face. “Heh…thanks man…”
“So how does it feel to be a Werewildcat?” Tad asked.
“Oh God, it feels amazing,” Connor gushed. “Transforming feels so incredible, and I wish I could stay in that form forever.”
“What species is your fursona based on?” Tad asked.
“Canadian Lynx,” Connor responded. “It’s kinda funny since Ryan’s form is based on a Bobcat, and according to him, Lynx and Bobcats are pretty closely related.”
Tad couldn’t help but laugh a little. “Dude, if that’s not a sign, I don’t know what is! You and Ryan are totally meant for each other!”
“You really think so?” Connor asked.
“I know so,” Tad responded. “Ryan is a great guy. He’s going to treat you right. Maybe one day you two will even get married and live together for the next century.”
Connor began to think about what Tad said. He imagined graduating college and moving in with Ryan, eventually getting married to him and spending many long years together. He could feel his heart fluttering at the idea of growing old with Ryan by his side.
“Yeah…” Connor replied, a small smile on his face. “Maybe we will…”
