Tatsu wore a grim expression as he sat upon his throne. Evan Harris and the Normal had not been seen in over a month. The kitsune lord knew though this was the calm before the storm.
"What troubles you Tatsu?"
Tatsu glanced up, a small smirk spreading across his face as his wife Shizen approached. "Worried of the future Shizen," he sighed. "It is my responsibility to keep the clan safe." Shizen chuckled softly, walking towards her husband and gently kissing his forehead.
"You have always lived up to those responsibilities dear," she said. "But now your responsibilities lie elsewhere." Shizen now gestured towards the hall as two three tailed kitsune entered the throne room, accompanied by there one tail twins.
"Poppa! Poppa!"
Tatsu smiled, chuckling softly as his grandchildren threw themselves on him, the nine tailed lord squeezing them tightly. "Hello little ones," he smiled.
"Mom said you could use some cheering up," Takeo stated. "Aiyo and I thought we would visit with the kids."
Tatsu gave his youngest son a warm smile as he glanced between him and his wife Aiyo. The pale three tailed woman grasping her husband's hand tightly. Aiyo had always been shy around him, her guilt for siding with Fukushu so many years ago. Tatsu though had grown to love and respect his daughter in law. Aiyo had beaten back her depression and birthed the kitsune lord his first grandchildren.
"Takeo, Aiyo I thank you," he smiled. "Your presence is greatly appreciated. By the way my son, happy birthday."
"Dont turn 400 for a couple of more days dad," Takeo smiled. "But thank you." Tatsu smiled, slowly approaching his son and his wife before hugging them.
The sounds of an explosion now rocked the palace, Tatsu raising his head as his ears stood back.
"What was that," Takeo asked. Tatsu frowned, he had a nagging feeling he knew what this was. "Takeo," he said firmly. "Take your family and your mother to safety. I will deal with this." Takeo looked at his father for a moment before nodding. The grim expression on his fathers face told him this was serious. As they turned to leave, Tatsu pulled Aiyo aside.
"Aiyo keep them safe. I trust you with protecting our family."

Casseus and the Boss now surveyed the damage. The spell opening the portal to the kitsune home had been tedious. After several attempts the Normal had finally succeeded in breaching the kitsune defenses. Now the Normal would do what they had done to countless other magical races.
"Sir your orders?"
"Wipe them out," the Boss growled. "All of them!"
Normal soldiers now advanced, gunfire and explosions of magic shattering buildings, roads, and bodies. Casseus trialed behind the initial troops, useing his magic to dispose of any kitsune that tried to flee or fight back. The wholesale slaughter of the clan was now in effect.

Darren blinked, puzzled as to what he was doing in Yuriko's home. The teen had been home, lounging in his room only to find himself in Yuriko's living room. "Ms. Yuriko whats going on?"
Yuriko had a grim expression on her face as Akira chanted. Darren watched as a tear in reality seemed to form inside Yuriko's home. "The kitsune are under attack," she said. "We have to help."

Casseus was amazed at the skill of the Normal. Kitsune were legendary for their fighting skill, yet the Normal were not only holding their own but pushing them back. "Lieutenant," Casseus called. A young officer dressed in beige and green now approached, saluting Casseus. "Sir?"
"Status report."
"Our initial advance was successful sir," the officer said. "We caught them off guard and inflicted heavy casualties. Some of their soldiers are trying to fortify their defenses. Im dispatching a sniper and additional units to the area."
"Good work Lieutenant," Casseus stated. "Keep me updated." As the officer departed, Casseus couldnt help but smile. Perhaps they could finally destroy this pesky allie of the Catalyst.
