As you sit in the living room, you can smell that the house owner Harumi was cooking something for you to eat. "Alright, close your eyes," Harumi says from the other room. "I've made these just for you." You do as the house owner says, and close your eyes, while you can still smell what she has made in the kitchen.
You then hear the house owner put a dish down which might contain the food she made. "Okay, you can open them now," Harumi explains. "The food is finished." You open your eyes, and find that the house owner has made 8 rice cakes with black bottom sushi tags, and dipping sauce, along with a kettle. "Onigiri rice cakes?" You ask, and grab one of them. "Ah ah ah," Harumi explains. "Pray, before you eat. That's how we do it in this house, young man."
While not wanting to disappoint the woman who has made this food, you do as she instructs, put your hands together, and pray before eating. However, you don't know what to say, so the woman helps you by doing the same thing, and puts her hands together as well. "We thank our god for this feast we now have in front of us," Harumi says. "For our new visitor shall enjoy this feast that has been prepared. いただきます." You're not sure what that last word was, but you still have your hands together. "You can stop praying now, dear visitor," Harumi explains, and you open your eyes, as she gives you a pair of chopsticks for the rice cakes for you to eat.
