Owner Emily finished her walk down the endless hallway and...suddenly, her eyes snapped open. She saw a St. Bernard hovering over her. "What the..." She tried to say, but it came out as as just a series of random noises.
Her eyes darted around the room, and she spotted another anthro dog working at a console, and a third....Brutus, standing nearby, looking concerned.
"Fascinating," the St. Bernard, who was wearing a labcoat said. "The MRI was lit up like a Christmas tree. At the very least, she must have been having one hell of a dream."
"What does it mean?" Brutus insisted.
"Well, nothing dangerous...I'm not quite sure what to make of it, honestly. I need to send this out to some of my colleagues...If I were to guess...it's just that she has an overactive imagination."
"Humans have imagination?" Brutus asked.
"Well, it's hard to tell. Most studies say that they do, but its not like they can tell us what they are dreaming about." The St. Bernard chuckled. "Maybe she needs some human companionship. That's easily fixed."
Brutus sighed. "If only it was that easy for people," he told the Vet.
The vet thought about that, and had a sudden strange image of herself in a backyard, running around. She quickly dismissed it, deciding she spent too much time with her patients and not with other dogs. "I know what you mean," she said. "Anyway...it's a bit strange, but it doesn't appear life threatening. It just makes Emily unique."
Emily had only half been listening, still having trouble moving because of the drugs wearing off. Her eyes darted around and her nose twitched as she felt the sensations of this version of her body.
