Jennifer enjoyed her mornings jog down the beach, she did it religiously every morning just before sunrise, depending on the weather that is. She ran exceedingly early long before most people showed up and when it was just herself and the sound of her music. Today, she didn’t have her music, she had forgotten to charge her phone over night, and it was at back at home charging up. So instead, she got to enjoy the sounds of crashing waves and the call of sea gulls which she loved but could hear that from her beach side apartment any day of the week.
She came to a stop jogging in place her feet pounding into the sand as she paused for a moment to take her heart rate. She did this to help her on her health journey. She had gained way to much weight in the first couple years of college and had worked hard to get back to a lean shape. She stopped once she got a rough estimate of her rate and decided to take a break. She placed her hands over her head breathing deeply, she was dressed in a dark navy-blue sports bra with some gold trim, which showed her B almost C cup breasts but she was more proud of her strong and tone core, you could see the muscles but it wasn’t too much just right to be extremely sexy. She wore a matching set of navy and gold shorts and her shoes where normal black. Her long golden-brown hair which normally went down to her shoulder blades was tied up in a tight bun now. She was in the prime of her early life, she had just started a great job after finishing grad school, she had her own apartment on a beach, not the greatest apartment but it was hers and everything was going her way.
She was about to head out again, when a crying sound filled the air, she turned and saw a group of rocks near the edge of the water.
“Is that a baby?” inquired Jennifer as she moved toward the rocks, she moved to the group of rocks the waves crashing only a few inches behind her the water brushing the bottom of her shoes. The crying sounded more and more like a baby, did someone abound a baby to die on the beach. She came to the source and found a beautiful baby with a tuff of hair which could not have been more then a day or two old. It was crying it’s head off and it was semi covered with seaweed, mostly the legs and some of the belly, it almost looked like it had been wrapped in the sea weed.
“It’s alright.” Said Jennifer as she reached down and picked up the baby, the seaweed falling away to show a short greenish fish tail instead of legs on this baby. Jennifer almost dropped the baby when she saw that, however she didn’t instead her eyes widened, she was holding a mermaid baby? Or was it a merman baby? Either way this couldn’t be real.
She tried to fell for a gap between the scales and the flesh, this had to be a suit of some kind, a baby merperson swimsuit? But she couldn’t feel anything and the scales were far too real.
“My God….” said Jennifer as the baby looked at her, it wasn’t crying anymore but Jennifer could see something was glowing around it’s hands, then it clapped as a small wave of energy shot out hitting both Jennifer and the baby…then.
